Touchdown Atlantic: Argos versus Als August 25th

There are newly announced ticket prices for the Touchdown Atlantic game in Moncton on August 25th between the Als and Argos. It sounds like they may be having trouble selling tickets.

Schooners Sports and Entertainment (SSE) has announced new ticketing packages and pricing for the August 25, 2019 game between the Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts that will kickoff at 1 p.m. AT.
Several major brands have partnered with the 2019 Touchdown Atlantic game to allow for new fan-friendly prices. Tickets will now start as low as $29, including all taxes and fees. ...

The New Country 96.9 Family Zone will offer picnic-style seating in the south end zone at an affordable price, with each $29 ticket including a hot dog and a soft drink.
The C103 Party Zone will take over the north end zone where fans can expect a celebratory and social experience, while making new friends from across Atlantic Canada. The wide-open, 19-and-over C103 Party Zone allows fans to roam the licensed area and take in the game atmosphere together, with tickets at just $45 each.

Or Touchdown Atlantic opened a couple of new revenue generating areas for the game? I don’t think selling tickets for this series has ever been a problem.

Yes, and the article I read said it was $65+fees for the cheapest. Now its down to $29 fees in + hot dog and drink

Part of the problem may well be the attractiveness of an Argos-Als game outside their home markets that involves two teams considered bottom-feeders by many.

I don’t understand continuing to playing Touchdown Atlantic in Moncton while trying to place a franchise in Halifax?? Halifax has St. Mary’s 10,000 seat football that could accommodate expansion and would be a great city for the weekend.

Well, the main grandstand at St. Mary’s was demolished a few years ago and the stadium currently has bleacher seating for only 2,000 - the university is pondering what to do going forward - so that’s one reason why not to play there. It’s not the same as it was when the Argos and Ticats played there in 2005; back then it held 10,000+.

I've had 3 different people ask me if I can get them tickets for this game because it was a Saturday afternoon game in the summer. None of them realized that the game was being played in Moncton.

Hopefully this is the last home game we'll have to donate to someone else's cause for many years. If the reports about a big crowd tonight turn out to be accurate, we might want two home games during the Ex next summer.

Have a feeling next year will be montreal again.
They likely assumed argos would be a draw.
Unless they move tfc to labour day weekend (possible) i dont think you'll see 2 cne games.
Unless they want to not do the labour day classic.
I think if that gane was today instead of last night, and we were hosting hamilton, you could have got 30k easy. Based on yesterdays turnout.
As forntd atlantic. Those are high prices forna neutral site game. 29 for an end zone temp grandstand seat sounds right.
    This isn't the grey cup

I hope so, we've more than done our part. You don't build your local fanbase by giving away games, especially when you give away a prime summer afternoon weekend game.

This game really should have been against Ottawa. Bonehead scheduling to not make the only team you have 2 home games scheduled against not have 1 used in this scenario. As a result Montreal makes no trips to Toronto while Ottawa has 2. I don’t get it.
It's us vs the rest of the country

Good point, I hadn't even thought of that.

I was wondering why they didn't have Montreal play Ottawa as those are the 2 closest teams.

Montreal’s surprise win really puts pressure on the Argonauts. Season is all but over before Labour Day if they lose in Montreal. The resulting 4 games back and no home game against Montreal would be to much to overcome.

I noticed in today Toronto Sun, the schedule shows Montreal at Toronto this weekend at 6:30, which may have been the original start time. But I had the same thing happen with someone visiting from out of town wanting to go to the game thinking it was at BMO.

Parking is an issue at the University of Moncton. Last Touchdown Atlantic in 2010, we faced a heck of a walk to the stadium from parking. It was totally offset when I turned to my right and who did I see but Argos legend #33 Bill Symons! I spent the whole walk chatting with one of my childhood idols. In retrospect, that walk was too short.

Argos are on record saying hat they are providing radio coverage for all home games. I guess Mike, you and Chris Schultz will be there Sunday?

I agree. Less than two miles would be too short.

    Radically Canadian!

A huge game against the team that we're chasing for the last playoff spot. It sure would be nice to have a real homefield advantage for this one.
