The 1982 CFL Argos vs Eskimos CNE Warren Moon Part 2 is actually a game from October, 1983.

I'm glad that Newton is back uploading games. I hope that he doesn't get any copyright strikes from the NHL, MLB or NFL.

Thanks for posting. I got a kick out of watching the game from 1946. The Winnipeg QB almost stuck his head between the Centers legs taking the snap. Also the Argos had a guy line up with his back to the line of scrimmage before the snap.
Interesting to see players we have only read about. 77 Royal Copeland, 54 Joe Krol, 59 Frankie Morris, 80 Bill Zock, 92 Rod Smylie.
They were good players back then but don't know how they would do now. Royal Copeland could probably play now as a receiver or DB. Star Linemen Frank Morris 5'11 225 and Bill Zock 6'1 235 wouldn't be big enough to play now. Although Zock could probably bulk up quite a bit if he was coming up now.
You could see the game still had some Rugby plays on end sweeps. Lateraling the ball out to onside players.
No grass turf left on the field for a Grey Cup Game. Could see why they had the Mud Bowl in 1952. Field conditions are so much better now, as well as the calibre of the play.
One good thing I don't think many penalties were called back then. That is something that has not changed for the betterment of the game.

For all the (deserved) accolades that Holloway, Greer, Minter et al receive, it seems that from looking at some of the scores that year that the Argos had a rather underrated defence. They held Edmonton to below 20 points in both games, held BC to under 20 in all three games and shut down Winnipeg in 1 of the games.

Considering it was a student film, the Thornton doc was really good. I didn't realize Theismann came back from his injury and finished the season.

Greg Barton totally imploded when Joe went down -- 9 picks and no TDs in 82 attempts. He must have been booed unmercifully. 20 TDs and 40(!) interceptions among the four QBs used that year.

Love that 1946 Grey Cup Game! They just don't play that way anymore.

    Radically Canadian!

A little back story, this film was made by students at Confederation College in Thunder Bay. At that time for students to get to Toronto from TB and get that kind of access would really be something. The school itself was only four or five years old so I'd say that the film was a real coup.

As someone who teaches in the college sector now, that was really neat to see and you are right about the challenges that those students faced.

BTW, speaking of Greg Barton, he passed away this past week.
