There already is an upper deck on the west side - hello!!

The upper east side should be tarped off for the Argos. This will build the atmosphere by filling the other 4 sections which are the original four sections that TFC started with. They filled those 4 sections and generated the atmosphere that TFC games are famous for. So too must the Argos take this approach because there isn't a snowballs chance in heck you are filling all the sections right now.

I understand the front office departures take effect today. In addition to Dykstra, marketing/merch director Tyler Puley has also been moved out and the word I get is that "most of the senior team" from the Copeland days are gone. Dykstra and Puley are still listed on the Argo web page; Copeland and Moore are not FWIW.

MLSE has their own marketing, communications and ticketing team, so it makes sense for these moves (and the more to come) being made.

Today (Mon. Mar. 5) he said, "We are going to downsize BMO Field for the Argos games", at 28:25 into this.

Maybe he is challenging the legions of couch-potatoes to actually attend the games.

If this is the most creative approach to the Argo attendance issue, that Manning can come up with, then I am sorely disappointed.

This is too bad. The team is going to be better than last year and it doesn't sound like they will have their act together organizationally to take full advantage of the onfield success. His focus is on TFC first. It would be nice if they had an Argo only president. Other than sharing BMO Field not sure why they gave him the Argos instead of appointing a other president.

i was watching john candy doc over the weekend when he was an owner of the argos and it was pleasing to see his enthusiasm for the argos/cfl and seeing so many people at skydome

Would anyone's reaction to this decision be tempered if he wasn't just recently hired?

If the plan is to close some sections in the upper east with the ability to open on a game by game basis, based on demand, I think I'd be ok with that. But as someone that sits in the upper west stands, I would have a huge problem if he closed any sections on that side.

I just would like to hear what his overall plan is.

Agreed. He needs to be there and to lay out a vision. I'm withholding judgment until we hear more than we have to date.

Upper East aren't for sale, so those will be tarped up. I can't see anything going on with the West side, since they sell pretty well there.

I'm not sure that taking areas of the stadium and making them unavailable for sale is a great way to increase sales. What one can't buy one isn't likely to buy. Perhaps we should withhold judgement, until we hear more of their strategic plans to increase attendance but one can only judge and comment upon the information we are receiving presently

My biggest concern is that they are trying to reduce the number of more affordable seats in order to sell the higher priced ones first. That would be a huge mistake and insulting to fans that don't have the available funds to sit in the more expensive seats.

If it's just the upper east side not being sold then it's better than the entire upper bowl. There will still be the 20.00 lead in price point available.

My concern is more the lack of communication from management. The only emails I have received since Manning took the hell was for the Abroise town hall invite but that's a league initiative. Looking forward to town hall as his vision to increase attendance too

The upper east side had allot of the promos (19.97 Doug Flutie and 15.00 CNE) which bumped up the crowds.

My understanding is season ticket sales have increased but sadly with this change it could still lead to a lower average attendance next year despite better revenues.

I agree. Tarping Skydome a 55,000 seat stadium is one thing. Tarping a 27,000 seat stadium is another. Especially the side the TV cameras are looking at all day. Why bother. Just go out and try to sell tickets. If the organization has no faith in filling 27,000 seats this year or any other, they may as well hand the keys over to the Maritime group.

And for the record I believe the Argos will be relevant again and will sell out BMO Field on a consistent basis in the not too distant future. Why spend the time, energy and money tarping seats in a small stadium? Focus your efforts elsewhere. Have some faith. Look to last years Eastern Final and say to yourselves, why can't this happen 9 times a year.
    GO ARGOS!!!

Initially Mannings effort sounds half assed. Not impressed by reducing the size of BMO, what kind of solution is that?
