Come on Charlie and Bill...think about it. The league was dead in week 2 if Dundon does not step up. Let it go. I was however hoping to see Birmingham Iron qb Luis Perez build on his last performance of 24 pass attempts for 65 yards.

So AAF was apparently working on a very interesting and unique gambling app. I think its obvious what the play was for Dundon having watched a Frontline Doc on pro sports gambing. He will make up that $70M in 1 week no doubt.

CFL teams have been changing their negotiating lists big time because of the collapse of the AAF.

“(Tuesday) was a crazy day in the CFL. The status reports that came out were loaded,” Hamilton Tiger-Cats football operations consultant Jim Barker told Jock Wilson on Calgary’s 770 CHQR on Tuesday evening. “Every team (was) dropping six and seven players and adding six or seven players.”

There were no big, yellow signs that said EVERYTHING MUST GO, with steep discounts abounding, but there was something of a free-for-all taking place as CFL teams looked for ways to improve their roster in the wake of the AAF’s news. ...

“You had to be fast. We lost two players to a team that beat us to the call,” Barker said. “It was a crazy day in the CFL in personnel offices across the league. I think everybody was prepared for it but it was a crazy day. I believe you’ll see maybe 20 players that were in that league (come to the CFL).”

The CFL had a few personnel losses to the startup league, both in terms of players and coaches. Defensive back Ciante Evans, receiver Terrell Sinkfield, d-lineman Dylan Wynn, linebacker Khalil Bass and kicker/punter Sergio Castillo are among the most recognizable players that went south to try out the league. Any player with CFL experience coming out of the AAF is a free agent.

Two Canadian players — d-lineman Stefan Charles and o-lineman Brett Boyko — were drafted by Edmonton and BC, respectively, but have never played in the CFL. Their rights remain with the teams that drafted them.

The other players that don’t fall into these two categories are like any other player a CFL team is eying. They would go on a team’s negotiation list. That’s how many of the league’s execs spent their day Tuesday.

“I would say five or six teams made at least five changes on their neg list,” Barker said, “meaning they took players off (their lists) and added players that were in the Alliance.”

Ebersol and Polian might be the two worst businessmen in the world. How do you not have sufficient funding to make it at least through one year, let alone 2 weeks. Dundon comes in and saves them, then they bitch he pulls the plug after losing $70 million. Wtf was he supposed to do? Keep losing $10 million a week? Crazy.

    Interesting.

I would like to see the Argos give Wolford a look. He is someone that in 3-4 years could be pretty decent. I like him better than James Franklin after having watched Franklin plenty in college.

Ebersol and Polian fooled a lot of people and now unfortunately those people are now out of work. I don't see how Dundons plan on using NFL PR players would have helped attendance either. You Can't Stop the Alliance.

Here's a look at some of the AAF players likely to get another NFL shot. Some won't make it far and could soon be available to the CFL even if they go to NFL TCs.

NFL signings of AAF players has started. One of the first AAF players to sign was Keith Reaser, who had played in 30 NFL games previously. The KC Chiefs picked him up.

The Cleveland Browns have signed AAF's leading QB Garrett Gilbert as the NFL quickly recruits many of the AAF's top players.

On Wednesday, AAF Spot (@AAFSpot), a Twitter account “for all things AAF” voted Gilbert as the first ever (and maybe last ever?) MVP of the Alliance of American Football.

Duke Thomas was on the Argo roster briefly in the off season I think. Good to see some players get employment after their brief AAF career. Lots of fallout being reported after operations were suspended....teams kicked out of hotels then having their hotel rooms putnon their personal creditmcards....being stranded in the AAF cities.. vendors not being paid.

I wouldn't touch any AAF players until at least September as 26 football games in one year is simply too much wear and tear on the body.

Two former AAF players are starting a class-action lawsuit against the league.

Two former AAF players are suing the league in a class-action complaint in the wake of its shutdown last week. Acting individually and on behalf of other players, Birmingham Iron punter Colton Schmidt and Orlando Apollos linebacker Reggie Northrup allege they were misled and defrauded when AAF control owner Tom Dundon halted operations after eight weeks of play. Dundon and AAF CEO Charlie Ebersol are two individual defendants named in the suit.

The complaint, filed in the Superior Court of California, seeks damages for: breach of contract, breach of good faith and fair dealing, failure to pay wages in violation of labor code, and fraud, among others. The class representatives are seeking the counsel of Boris Treyzon of the law firm, Abir Cohen Treyzon Salo LLP.

"We are proud of the players who decided to stand up for their rights. Our clients stand ready to perform the obligations required by the terms of their contract and demand that the league and its' backers do the same. " said attorneys for the class representatives Boris Treyzon and Jonathon Farahi in a released statement.
Additionally, Treyzon told CBSSports.com that his clients are entitled to damages because they upheld their end of the AAF player contracts, which are for three years and $250,000. ...

The AAF has not yet officially responded to a request for comment.

So far at least 55 AAF players have signed with NFL teams, including QB John Wolford with the LA Rams, for those hoping he might be coming to the CFL quickly. The following url includes a list of these signees.

The AAF filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday.

"The AAF is committed to ensuring that our bankruptcy proceeds in an efficient and orderly manner," the league said in a statement. "Pursuant to the bankruptcy laws, a trustee will be empowered to resolve all matters related to the AAF's remaining assets and liabilities, including ongoing matters related to player contracts."
