He might deserve it from someone, but not from a team in which he never represented. Had he played for them last year, I would say sure, no problem. But to take a signing bonus from a team you have never worked for, and then just quit, and expect to keep that money is wrong.

100% Correct, bush league move IMO.
Never cared for Durant but even less so now.
