    TSN Streaming Service

As per article on 3Down, TSN is now offering a streaming service.
    http://3downnation.com/2018/06/07/tsn-finally-launches-live-streaming-means-can-watch-cfl-without-cable/

    https://www.tsn.ca/tsn-and-rds-are-now-available-through-digital-subscription-1.1106293

I had just made arrangements for cable to be installed tomorrow afternoon too...CANCELLED. Let's hope its good.

Agree price is a bit steep but according to the site you can cancel any time. So when the season is done cancelled and back at it the next year. I am just worried about the quality.

It still beats me paying $60/month here in Uxbridge for channels I will never watch.

Putting the streaming service through its paces tonight for the lions bombers game. Had to call in and reinstall TSN GO app to get it working but so far so good. 720p off the iPad and no lags or interruptions so far.

Yeah, that's quite steep. For comparison, ESPN+ is $4.99/mo.

Did you cut the cord and sign up for the TSN streaming?

Is it even worth it to cut the cord and watch sports ?
TSN Direct - $24.99 a month for the year (CFL and NHL). Then add in Sportsnet Now $24.99 a month year round for Hockey and Indycar. Add in Netflix and/or Crave ($7.99 - $22 a month). And this doesn't include internet.

I currently pay less for my cable and internet - glad I never ended up cutting the cord a couple of years ago. Makes more sense to cut the cord if you don't watch much tv and/or watch illegally.

i did yes and to rj’s point it is a fine line that tipping point where you decide to cut or not based on what it would cost you to do a la carte.

when i had cable it was basically for cfl with treehouse tvo a close second and third. since we have managed to find enough free content to keep my toddler happy online with youtube etc it’s worth it to me to do tsn direct. for some it might not.

Well according to site you can cancel at any time. I looked at it this way. For season I pay 150 6 months. With cable I was paying that in 2 months so yes it’s expensive against services like Netflix etc and yes no option to PVR but still I pay for what I want with no redundant channels.

Any way used it again yesterday for ticats als game and again flawless performance.

    Enjoy the season guys!

We have a home in Florida and I have ESPN & ESPN2 on my satellite package. Up until now I could watch all CFL games streamed on ESPN3 because of the ESPN subscription. Now they have brought in the ESPN+, which means I would now have to pay $4.99 extra to watch CFL games which are now on ESPN+
If you cut the cord and want to watch ESPN+ you have to sign up through something like Roku or Hulu for $40US a month.

Now that ESPN has put CFL games on this ESPN+ for a fee I think there will fewer in the US watching CFL football this year.
ESPN2 will televise CFL games in June and July but then only 1 game in October and then November for the CFL playoffs and GC

    That's not true. It's $4.99/month for anyone.

This is more than reasonable. It's USD of course, but I'd probably be signing up with TSN for $10 a month. Until that price point, I'll have to "do without".

By the way, I just figured out it's possible to subscribe to ESPN+ from Canada with a Canadian credit card, if anyone wants to be "grey and pay". PM me for details of you are interested.

Yeah, I think $10 makes a lot more sense. Sportsnet Now is also $25 and doing okay from my understanding; which is why I think TSN decided to follow suit.

If someone has tried it without cable/satellite and got the APP I would like to know.
You do need a US IP, which you can get for around $30 a year.
The APP is available in the google play store but it won't let me download it on my laptop.

Yes, it all works fine in the US - which is what I thought we were talking about.

Apkmirror. As I posted above, I've signed up with a Canadian credit card and used it with the Android app downloaded from apkmirror. I have a smart DNS service for a US IP of course.
