I do not like Winnipeg's chances with Nichols out.

Esks take this one. I think they'll take the West this year.

It'll be an interesting season for the Bombers. How will they fare without Nichols for the first 6 weeks ?

Not really surprising, but Streveler named the Bombers starter

It'd like to see Bennett get out there eventually (maybe not within the first 2 weeks), because I'm interested to see if he has "it" - I like his arm and athletic ability.

Interesting CFL stat: Streveler will be the first rookie QB to start a season opener since Calvillo for the Las Vegas Posse in 1994.

Should be a real interesting game - with Streveler starting - will they pound the run game to take heat off him? - not sure LaPolice would get this concept? But they should have a good receving corps - Dressler, Adams, Bowman and a bunch of young Canadians (Demski, Wolitarsky + draft picks Simonise & Petermann (steal of the draft IMO)) who could step-up ?

And the Esks are highly rated going into the season - but they have some questions marks IMO - like being without top notch receivers in Zylstra & Bowman - i'll bet anything their replacements put up nowhere near their production; and a couple of mediocre or unproven import OTs won't cut it to protect Reilly and lots of passing game; also lost Willis, Chick, Hunt at DE, plus outstanding (IMO) rookie of last year Bowers at DT- they might think they have good replacements to those vet DEs, but I wouldn't count on near the same quality pass rush now; Sherritt being able to return to previous form is another question mark.

    They're going to dress only one back-up O-lineman ? (foolish stuff); yet they need 2 back-up safeties or 2 back-up fullbacks = WTF ?

2 retread starting import OTs (Sunderland loves his ex-RedBlacks) ? - Reilly might be running for his life.

These depth charts are notoriously unreliable but I would bet McCarty will be the seventh NAT most of the time, with Adjei or Behar coming in when they go to five receivers.

Maybe; but they did not use a fullback near as much as they went with straight 5 pack last season; McCarty is an excellent pass catching back, and Dupuis is a big moose of a blocker, so IMO they would get way more out of a fullback than sticking a NI at wide-side WR and then never throwing to him.

National WR Behar had three catches for 29 yards and a two point conversion while McCarty caught two passes for 11 yards.

Streveler played very well for a raw rookie and showed lots of promise, but I suspect their will a fair number of ups and downs as he grows at the QB position.

Great work Streveler. It certainly looks like you have a future in the CFL.

Good to see they are finally using Behar, he had zero catches last year. A pretty good catch on that 2 point convert.

Tough for a rookie to make an impact when they hold out of training camp, as Behar did last year. Chapman in Hamilton will probably be a non-factor this year, if he ever shows up, for the same reason.
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
