MLSE spends more on the Salary of 1 Raptors starting player than they do on the Argonauts. I'm sure they can afford to at least use a better Turf for half of 1 undersized Endzone.[/QUOTE
ah perspective !
bmo field issues are embarrassing and make cfl look very amateurish
all cfl fields should be the same size -
and
entire field should be of one surface
.
period [double entendre]
But don't forget that MLSE does not own BMO, the stadium is owned by the city, maintained by the city. Any upgrades/improvements are authorized by the city, even though MLSE is the main tennant and has funded most of the expansion/upgrades.
If it's right what Greg Ellingson was saying in the 3down article, it would seem that a new type of rubber backed turf would be an easy solution. It couldn't be that expensive to cover 18' X 65'
Ron is undoubtedly correct that MLSE is probably looking at this from a purely financial point of view. However, one would hope that an organization as wealthy as MLSE, could look past the dollars and cents and make a decision in the best interest of the team and players.
With respect, it has been my personal experience that when you give the responsibility of an organization/project to one individual and make it clear that that is his/her sole responsibility to ensure the its success, you get a much higher advocacy for the organization/project. For that reason, I would prefer to see a president of the Argos, who has the team not just as his/her prime responsibility but as their only responsibility
i think the non regulation size of fields across the country is PART of the reason some people stay away from the cfl and refer to it as 'bush league'
make ALL end zones 15 yd deep - easier for usa db's to adapt and to standardize ALL fields
.
and put posts at BACK of 15 yd end zones
no goal post interference and more 'going for it' on 3rd down
all pat can now come from 3 yd line as b4
I’m actually good with 15 yd end zones across the board. Posts back of end zone and then removal of missed FG single. Neither has any impact on current attendance, but I would be ok with the change.
Attendance increased slightly last night
ATTENDANCE: 11,857

Have you, or any of the fans here who are understandably not happy about this, given a dime to the Star in the recent past? This is not a "bad news judgment" issue -- far more than anything else, it is a "reduced revenue" issue. And it's not just the Star that is reduced to pushing thru wire copy without human intervention.
