I think POPP will likely be best suited to hold off and find out if either of these are serious or not.

We still have Jackson and Burks, nor to we know the extent of the injuries, so I don't think Popp needs to jump the gun yet.

If Jackson and Burks end up as the backfield because of injury, how good are they at blocking since they are both on the small side, because, as one knows, the OL needs all the help it can get?

Especially considering they only ran 3 times last game.

keep back in backfield as blocker [opposing pass rush has been killing argos anemic offence] and throw to declan cross in flat, WR to run deep post/fly to draw coverage
also NO 5YD PASSES on 2nd and 10
let franklin run around and get some yds with legs - he is NOT a pocket passer
i would start bethel thompson instead

make defnsive play calls more aggressive - blitzes and man2man - db's are ball hawks, let 'em ball hawk !
4 man pass rush is not working - argos gotta blitz
and no arm tackling of rb - put shoulder pad in and get it done ! no need to try to inflict pain, just a good tackle, best way to inflict pain is to make them lose game

and for fg woes - just have 3 down mentality when in fg territory
    inside opposing 40, 3 downs
outside 40 punt to pin 'em deep, give defence a break
make opposing offence go ALL the way downfield to score TD

    eg
    1st down, 5 yd pass
    2nd down, 3 yd run
[or reverse 1st and 2nd down]
3rd down need 2 yds [do NOT line up in short yardage formation]
3rd down - roll to wide side with declan cross in wide side flat
that way he is receiver and a blocker
qb has lots of options, run or pass [can be used on 1st, 2nd down too]
keep rb to guard qb blind side

    - go for 2 pt converts - avoid kicking ball thru uprights as much as possible
hell kicker won't miss 2 x fg that way
    -
special teams is doing well - let 84 noel be a captain this week
on fumble return on punt - he had ball in outside arm. ball close to chest, head up and he ran like hell - all as he was taught ! beautiful to watch, just beautiful
    .
all this may fly in the face of conventional wisdom, but losing so badly to winnipeg is anything but conventional
try something different, be aggressive , be exciting
you are 1-4, w/ a bad FG kicker, hurt starting qb, seems 2 hurt starting rb,
what do u have to lose ?

If that is the case, change up the game plan with more roll outs where Franklin can throw on the move. Burke looked good in pre-season in the limited action he had. Other teams have demonstrated that you don't necessarily have to have a monster running back to be successful. Trestman's philosophy has always been "next man up", so let's see what happens.

My guess is you may see a lot of Declan Cross in the game to help with that. Possible a 6th o-lineman too.

Good to see Wilder not seriously hurt seeing as how he is the starter on the depth chart.

I guess we'll never know if McCluster was meant to replace Jackson this week.

Still no changes to that secondary.
