Bill Manning mentions about 3/4 of the way through this interview that he's spoken to TSN about moving the cameras to the East side to shoot the usually full West stands:

Should have been done right from the beginning.
Oops I meant to post this in the Double Blue Room.
I like it. Only thing is, it could get challenging for the PBP and colour guys, as their monitors will be showing the reverse angle of what they are seeing live.
It's us vs the rest of the country
I think it is a good idea as the better optics would help the team. I'm wondering if it would hurt advertisers though as the east side has those digital advertisements on the ground that the camera picks up.
Godfather
I'm glad they're looking into it. The optics are much worse than the current reality. It's a better plan and papering or slashing prices on that side.
I do see the point of the digital adds on the opposite sidelines, which is why both players benches are on the same side (like Hamilton and Ottawa). On field digital adds won't matter though.
Hmm. There are probably technical challenges pointing the cameras towards the sun in a late afternoon game. TSN might discover why nobody wants to sit over there.
Faster + Louder = Better
a few more wins by the argos would very easily solve any pesky 'camera' and 'attendance' issues
worry about wins
as al davis said; "just win baby!"
Yeah, all it takes is a few wins and all of our problems will be solved. Amazing no one has thought of this in the past three decades.

It's all worked before no ?
It's just a trick, really, but if the appearance of people in the stands helps sell the atmosphere and therefore more tickets - and casual tv viewers seeing people in seats can't hurt - then go for it. It can't hurt.
I'd be fine with most of the cameras still on the west side for the commentators, but the field cam in the truck should be on the other side. I hate it when it blocks my view of goal line stands. One reverse angle wouldn't hurt the TV viewer either (not to mention showing the fullish to full west side stands).
Does TFC play summer afternoon games at BMO? If so do they suffer attendance issues as a result of the sun?
They played one on July 1st this year in the afternoon (it was a hot one), and have another on August 12th - they drew 26K+ on July 1st with a long weekend and a Jays game that afternoon too. They will draw at least that (26K) or more on August 12th too (July 30th 2017 drew 29K+ as well)....in other words it has not affected their attendance if they play on afternoons in the sun - it is one of the reasons I have both of my ST on the West Side though....
