Unless he really struggles badly, I don't see it happening. Franklin wasn't pulled in either Winnipeg game, and he really struggled badly in both of them. Not Trestman's style to make a change mid game, even if he did do it last year going from Matthews to Fajardo in Montreal.
It's us vs the rest of the country

I agree it's never been Trestman's style to yank a QB. He once said that it may cause a loss of confidence and trust in the QB. IMO at the pro level, players have to be able to get over being pulled.

Trestman doesn't often change QBs during a game. The only time I can recall his doing that in the CFL was the game in Montreal last year in which Jeff Mathews started and was pulled at halftime in favour of Cody Fajardo.

If three last names doesn't have a good first half I would like to see Franklin given a shot in the second. He's had longer to learn the system now than Duron Carter.

Bethel-Thompson played well. He has given the Argos a chance to win every game (6) he has played. Franklin gave the Argos a chance to win 2 of the 4 games he started. Bethel-Thompson isn't the problem with this team.

    LOL Neely.
2 picks to the opposition D-Line very unusual to say the least.

I’ll cut him some slack on the last pick as he had a B.C. defender right in his face as he threw the ball.

This has to be the end of the MBT starter experiment.

While I agreed with the original benching, think Franklin needed to calm down and watch from the sidelines for a bit with 6 INTs, but Trestman really needed to give Franklin another chance sooner. Now, Franklin off the bench seems to do better than Franklin the starter. I hope he finishes the rest of the season as #1.

Barring one easily catchable conversion throw, Franklin ties the game tonight. Surely he earned the next start.

No sugar coating this game, MBT pooped the bed!
Franklin gets the rest of the starts. And get the 3rd stringer some reps as well.

Franklin had four starts, MBT has had eight, giving Franklin the last four makes sense on many levels. The one caveat is that because we have been eliminated from the playoffs, there will (or at least should) be temptation to experiment elsewhere. For instance, I'd like to see J. Campbell, Kolankowski and Cage all get some playing time on the o-line, but that might make it a bit more difficult to evaluate Franklin. I do want him to play with starting-calibre receivers (Green, Edwards, Carter, White, Cross) and would like to see Ralph, Charette and/or Noel get the bulk of the other receiver reps. Williams does not seem to have the hands needed to earn consistent playing time at this point.

You are bang on. If Franklin is put in for the remainder of the season, who he plays with has to be factored in with respect to any evaluation of him. I think this was a factor in the games that he initially played in before he got pulled.

Let Franklin work with the starting unit (as is) for the next 2 games then mix in some of the other players for the last couple of games.
