Flags and flagpoles

Hello all,

I'll be in town for the home opener and need some flag-related advice and insight.

I recently bought this flagpole on amazon:

I know BMO has rules around flags, but I always see them on TV so I've gathered that the rules are kind of squishy. Do I have to buy tickets in a particular section? Is there a particular gate? Would I be allowed to bring in a flag on this flagpole? Would I have to hide it in the old prison wallet (Google it)?

Last season we had many issues with flag poles in section 116. 2 years ago however we had the teams blessing with regards to flag poles. This year we have been assured that the game security with regards to flag poles will be the same as TFC games. As far as I know, if you are in the south endzone, oversize flags are allowed. The double blue order, as a group has around 30 flags. So we are hoping to have no issues this coming Saturday.

Here's what the BMO website says:

(Banners/Signs/Flags) will be permitted in the supporters sections as long as they meet the following guidelines;

• Are event related or in good taste
• Cannot be commercial, political, or offensive in nature
• No larger than 5’ x 5’ in size
• Flagpoles are made out of flexible PVC and no larger than 6’ in size

How strict are they with the material of the flagpole? Mine isn't PVC, it's flexible stainless steel, basically the material of an umbrella. Whats been you guys' experience?

They've never had an issue with the materials we use. Our flags are all mainly PVC piping with a dowel running through for strength. You should be alright mate. Looking g forward to meeting you Saturday!

Update: Security wouldnt let us get to our seats with that flagpole. Made us bring it to fan services and check it in until the end of the game. Their big problem was the tiny metal ball at the top, which they said could be used as a weapon (ya ok...) I probably couldve done a better job hiding it, but moral of the story, probably not worth the trouble.
