IMO there is no point promoting the 10th franchise until it has a clear plan for entry into the league. There is no stadium and as yet no approved business plan. IMO the whole thing remains a pipe dream contingent on big govt dollars for a stadium, which I have a really hard time imagining will be approved. I'd love to be wrong as a franchise in Halifax would be fantastic (and the league needs to expand to remain viable, IMO) but until some real dollars are committed it's nothing but yet another Maritime football concept. Certainly not something the league should be paying to have two teams incurring expenses for a week at this point.

I heard a very interesting stadium concept and drawings seen that might just make the stadium viable. There’s a mayoral election that will be held in the next nine months and I won’t say anything before the mayor re-elected. Promising though.

Totally missed that. I thought we completely blew that. Sometimes because the Canadian game is so much better and faster this stuff is not captured like when you watch the no fun league. BTW imagine if the CFL has to drop 10 yards off the field minutes before the game. What a double standard.

Here's hoping the Als losing the rest of their games while we win out propelling us to the playoffs.

It happened up here. Wpg's last regular season home game in 1991. So much ice, and so screwed up by lawn aerators, that they had to chip out a shorter, narrower field. Fortunately I don't think it was televised.

And imo it is a myth that Canadian football is faster. It used to be true, when the 20-second clock started as soon as the yard sticks and ball were in place. But now refs wait for substitutions before starting the 20, all while the game clock keeps running. It used to be that even with ball and stick placement, there was typically no more than 30 seconds between plays up here. It's now more like 35-40 seconds.

If McEwen doesn't hurry the snap at the end of the half, we get at least a FG.

If we don't start the second half with an illegal kickoff, maybe the Als don't score on the next play.

If Edwards catches the last ball like he should have, we win 29-28.

    Just not our year.

29-28 assuming the convert is made. We missed one earlier in the game and had two field goals hit the upright then bounce our way. The way our kicking game has been for the last year and a half that convert is no gimme but I get your point.

It was televised on TSN after CBC showed the Argos' thrilling season finale against Ottawa. I was a university student in Ottawa at the time and recall watching both games. I am pretty sure that the Edmonton/Winnipeg game didn't mean anything in the standings although most starters played in those days.

Quarterbacks don't win or lose games on their own. Many believe that Mike Reilly is the best QB in the league and his team is 1-9 and, frankly, he has been outplayed by MBT.

Exactly. The qb "Won Loss" record is a stupid misleading stat that a lot of fans put too much stock in. Quit trying to compare starting pitchers with qb's.
