Strange timing. Defence is not the problem, and Awe has been great to this point, while Herdman-Reed is coming off a great game in the middle. Could be a move looking for more leadership I guess.

    My thoughts also.
Maybe he plays the Gilchrist role & fires up teams?

Probably. For the record, I have no issue with bringing him back. I was just surprised that this was the move they made. I fully expect to see Wilder and Lemon gone at some point during the bye week, but I hope I am wrong.

Unless there are a few guys banged up that we don't know about.

Always good to have guys of his character in the locker room but here's hoping for help elsewhere also.

Not a big fan of this move. The only thing it does is bring in a known commodity (not that this is a bad thing).

To me Popp is still failing to address the big issue with this team - Offence. 75 points in 6 games (and yet to hit 20 in any one game) is not going to cut it, with, or without, Bear Woods.

Maybe there is more coming. Time will tell.

Have no problem with this move but as others have pointed out, the problem is primarily with the offense. Hopefully we will see some moves soon to help the offense.

No clue what Popp is doing at this point.
Perhaps injuries, upcoming trade, bad chemistry (leadership) in the room?

What problem does this move solve?

Jim Popp has to make some moves to show that he is trying to do something. Woods gives them some depth at MLB even if he doesn't play right away. With Ian Wild out for a while and if one of Awe, Gilchrist or Herdman-Reid gets dinged they didn't really have a next guy up. I thought maybe Striker could get a look at MLB but haven't seen any indication of that happening. I guess in the next couple of weeks they will find out if Woods is close to being the old Bear Woods or just old.
