    Cory Greenwood

Signed by the Stamps as a back-up/depth LB after other CFL "scouts" decided he must be too old , washed-up or "injury prone". Back-up to star MLB Alex Singleton last season; Singleton moves on to the NFL and the Stumps decide to give Greenwood a shot to start at MLB ...

... Greenwood now leading the CFL in tackles, showing other D play-making stuff (very good D players rack up combined #s in INTs, forced & recovered fumbles, sacks). The guy is a stud defensive football player - he didn't make the NFL for several seasons for nothing, and his season playing regular on the Argo defence (till he got injured) showed it as well.

Not a bad signing by the Stamps i guess. Too bad the guy didn't become a D fixture on the CFL team that drafted him, but hey, maybe he didn't like Toronna ? ;o) Is he going to get much CFL recognition or is he missing something on his resume for that. ;o)

I don't think there has ever been a question of Greenwood's ability. Maybe could have been another Mike O'Shea had he came to the Argos out of University. Concussions and other injuries probably made teams shy away. Sometimes the hitter gets hurt as much as the hittee. Maybe Cory has learned a safer way of tackling. But it is good to see him having success again.
