Chris Cuthbert just pointed out that in Calgary's 4 losses they has a double digit lead in all of them. I guess we have them right where we want them.

This is a game that involves one team that simply outclasses the other.

    It is therefore no contest.

For reference, see the Patriots against the Dolphins last week...

Or Argonauts against anyone except Ottawa this year.

I actually thought we had a chance for an upset.
What the hell was I thinking, as this was close until the game actually started.

No idea why the DB's are playing drop back zone instead of man during the last Calgary downs.

I stopped watching at half-time to see a program on the global climate crisis including people starving to death in Guatemala due to climate change even though I usually watch to the end no matter the score. It was more cheerful than the first half. Turned the game back on with 2:02 to go to see Franklin throw a bullet for a TD. Then the Argos defence, after getting the advantage of a five yard penalty to put Calgary second and eight, look totally confused on how to line up for the play that helps give Calgary a critical first down. Disorganization is the story of the Argos.

Four carries by Wilder and one by Rainey. Calgary could afford to ignore the run totally, giving up 10 yards per carry to Wilder and 11 to Rainey because the running game was meaningless in the grand scheme of things, enabling the Stampeders to focus on the Argo passing game and get six sacks.

Give some credit to our guys for battling to the finish tonight, however in a game like this
it's hard to say if the Stamps let up, and that is what made it close.

ArgoTom: next week it is Sask and IMO they are not the team that Calgary is, so
I think there IS a chance for an Argo upset next week.

Franklin is now likely to be the starter on Sep 28th (I'm guessing...)

    Maybe?
But just remember who is coming back and red hot he is, Cody Fajardo.

Your season is over I think it's time to start playing some of the rookies and young Canadians who have been there for a while.

    - start O'Connor at QB
    - replace Ralph with Gittens
    - replace Holmes with Richards at LG
    - replace Bomben with Simba at RG
    - try Kwemo at WLB
    - put Woodson at field halfback
    - start Boateng at field corner
    - give Gaydosh some more reps, he's a former first overall pick

Might be worth a try. What do they have to lose. BTW what ever happened to Jeff Findley, he used to make plays when he got into games.

But anyway, the score flattered the Argos. I think The Dickens took his foot off the gas in the 2nd half. Started calling plays like Chapdelaine to keep the score close.

On the Big Screen before the game they were saying if you "see something, say something". The problem is I didn't see something worth saying something about.
So I guess I will just have to keep singing that old song. "These rose coloured glasses that I'm looking through show only the beauty, and they hide all the truth" and the band played on.

Beautiful fall night. Saw some great fall foliage on the way to the game. You don't see nature looking like that in summer. Now on to the non-weather portion of my post...

I didn't want to say it before the game, but I had a feeling the Stamps would dominate. If not for some horrible drops (especially by Eric Rogers), this would have been a blow out. Our d-line really struggled. BLM had too much time to throw on far too many plays. Our o-line was poor. Their secondary rarely gave up easy completions.

As other have said, the two third down coaching decision were highly questionable.

I get that most people focus on quarterbacks, but we won't compete with the better teams in the league until we address our o-line. It doesn't matter who plays QB if we don't fix that. Gotta be a huge priority in the off-season.

Wow. Chamblin is the worst live game coach I have ever seen. Not a worse coach than Bart Andrus, or even John Huard who ostracized players, but worse at real time football decisions. It’s like he losses the ability to think under pressure. He seems great in interviews and practice, just not when it counts. Players win you games. A coach that makes it even more difficult for them is not what a struggling franchise needs. What a terrible hire for Popp and Manning.

MBT showed who he is. QB’s are going to struggle at times. He has more of those bad games than other QB’s do and that’s why many are hesitant to says he’s our 2020 starter.

O-line is depleted and weak. We don’t even have any quality backups. One injury and the game goes for shit. Same story every freaking week. Popp’s worst mistake.

Not surprised at the crowd. Weeknights are really hard to make it to BMO from any direction for a 7pm start, and of course, the team sucks. I couldn’t make the game.

Between the non gamble inside the 5 yard line and the wasted time with 22 seconds left in the half, I have to wonder what our coaches are thinking at times.

The gamble at midfield I’m fine with to be honest, but looked like odd after the kick from inside the 5

Less than 10k there last night:

"The visiting Stamps continued their regular-season dominance of Toronto with a 23-16 victory — their 12th in a row over the Double Blue — in front of an announced crowd of 9,819, one of the lowest at BMO Field for an Argos game."

People decided to go to the cottage to enjoy the last weekend of summer, no surprise here.

Really down in the dumps this morning, more so than usual following a defeat. When Gilchrist didn't return his int for a TD, I knew the offense would be unable to punch it in. Our oline is poor and has been unaddressed by the team for years, and then to put them in a situation of pass pass pass is just poor coaching. This team should decline bye weeks.

To put O'Conner on the field with no support will only hurt him, both physically and mentally.

The score really flattered the home team.

Completely understand how you feel, 2019 has been complete failure for the Argos.
On a positive note these games are a great night out with my son with the added bonus of catching up with you guys at the game!

No question. The o-line play last night may have been the worst we have seen in four or five years of mostly bad o-line play. Randy Richards was utterly atrocious, but he was not alone. When was the last time we had an INT tackle who could dominate? I'm thinking 2012.
