Couldn't agree more... you don't have enough faith in your offense to punch it in from 2 yds out, but are willing to go for it when you need to make 5 yds.... and then give the best QB in the league half a field to work with. We were lucky that Calgary only got a field goal. And as others have posted, but for a few dropped balls by Calgary's receivers, this game might have been a blowout.
But at least they did keep fighting until the very end... and Bear Woods was awesome again. I really love that guy.
That was not the time to gamble. Punt the Stamps deep and win the ball back. The same strategy could be used if they fail from going for it on the 2. I think you reverse those two stupid calls and they are walking away with at least 6 points, with high possibilities of 10 and a chance at 14. But no, we settle for swapping FG and come away with a net of 0.
yeah that game had depressing elements to it:
- attendance #s (I don't really get too down about these things but that number was bad, yikes)
- coaching decisions - all over the map, no need to re-hash out.
however there weregood elements (maybe more)
- love seeing Bear Woods out there again - pains me that they thought the team was better without him before. I'll be kind and say it's likely salary cap related.
- the beer lines were short.
I mean i wasn't crazy enough to expect a W, and the score flatters them a bit. But aside from that, the Argos weren't really in this game. Eric Rogers catches a few balls that are in his hands and this gets ugly fast.
Ah well - onto the next one.
