With all of the attention (understandably) on Pinball's return, the John Murphy story got lost in the wash to a degree.

It shouldn't have.

He's a look at a long, winding road to his current position.

It's a fascinating journey.

Question:

John Murphy "came aboard" the Argonauts last offseason, right? In some kind of role under or consulting with Popp, right? Does he deserve some of the blame for how this season went (particularly an inability to find American talent to compete for spots against players who went 4-14 last year) and, if so, how much does he deserve?

Zero blame towards Murphy, Popp had full control over player personnel decisions so he owns the results endured during the last 2 seasons.

Murphy seems like a straight shooter who answers questions honestly and in depth without any BS.

I love Murphy's story of working up from the bottom and believe that he will bring that attitude to recruiting, not excluding anyone from being reviewed because he is far from a typical candidate. If he keeps that up I think it will pay off.
