Playoff Game Thread: Winnipeg at Saskatchewan, Sunday November 17th

Calgary seemed confused by the alternating 2 QB passing/rushing Collaros/Streveler attack on Sunday. The Riders will have a week to prepare for this, so they might be better prepared to deal with it. If they're not, they will lose, even though Fajardo has been a major contributor to their offensive success.

Should be a really good game. I'll take the Bombers by a slim margin.

Fajardo has been a big factor and that is the big unknown. What is true state of his health for this game? It sounds like this oblique muscle injury was pretty serious... so will be interesting to see how well he can throw downfield. Especially on long balls. If Saskatchewan can't stretch the field, that could be a huge issue.

I don’t think Fajardo can throw at a level he will need to. My guess is he dresses, but doesn’t play much if at all. Bombers with the road victory, bringing up the battle of the biggest losers (Grey Cup championship futility).

Fajardo is listed as the starter... should be interesting. Hoping for a great game.

I have a feeling the strong Rider defence is going to throttle the Bummers offence - either of Collaros or Strevler; Fajardo won`t have to do that much, but if he is on even a bit with his passing, the Bummer D=backfield is real weak IMO.

I think it will be a close game, with special teams or turn-overs a big factor.

Hoping for a more competitive Final than we just saw in the East. Prediction: yes a Bombers road win.

Grey Cup matchup between the two longest droughts in the CFL. Cup Coaching match-up between two great ex-Argos, both
Argo Player Cup-winners and Argo Coaching Cup-winners. That will be fun to see.

It sure looked to me like Fajardo was over the line of scrimmage on the Winnipeg challenge, despite the ruling otherwise.

I'm surprised that after the Winston Rose interception that the O'Shea chose to run with Streveler and then when he was stopped in the backfield run again with Harris, rather than go for the throat with a long pass from Collaros.

Ten minutes left, seven point lead. Beauty sideline pass from Zac...he is getting terrific
protection from the excellent Bomber O-line...my how we could use an O-line like that.
PLUS they are awesome run blockers...A. Harris three straight rushing titles tells you the story.

I'm surprised again that the Riders this time put Bennett in around the 10 yard line when Fajardo seemed to be getting better as the game wore on and had led Saskatchewan into scoring position.

Excellent! Winnipeg wins the Cup and O’Shea can leave for home. Hamilton wins and Masoli will be pushed out. Or heck, we get both. Perfect playoffs for Argofans!

did you see that catch off the tip at the 5 yard line? holy crap!
looked like God was on the Riders's side...but NOOO.
Then you hit the crossbar on the final play?
    C'mon...the crossbar?...wow
Almost (not quite) as harsh for Rider fans as the famous Grey Cup 13th man.

Glad to see O’Shea and Collaros win and get a chance for the Grey Cup.

Some good drama in this game as well as a number of debatable coaching decisions. I think the Riders should have used Powell more. But you can't fault the effort. Both teams played hard, physical football.

Bombers let the Riders back in the game by inserting Streveler on some first down plays. They were controlling the game unlike last week so there was no need for this. Over thinking almost cost them.

Hard to believe how little game time Collaros has played in the last few years. Looks to be playing in mid season form. What a turnaround for the Bombers since signing Zach.

To quote GM “Pinball”, the offseason signings of HC O’Shea and QB Collaros would be “sweeeeeeeeet’.
