    2020 season tickets

Presumably like other STHs, I have received my renewal package by email. The biggest change is the auto-renewal provision, which means anyone who signs up this year will automatically be renewed for 2021 unless they specifically opt out next fall. That seems like a smart biz strategy.

I THINK my seats (platinum) have gone down slightly in price altho it's hard to compare against last year's pricing because there was a very large credit in my account then.

From logging into the site as a potential "new" subscriber, it's evident that tickets in section 125 have gone up in price, from gold to platinum level. That will likely make a lot of people unhappy, but IMO 125 was too good a deal last year compared to 124 (where I sit). I think thje two sections should be priced at the same level, and this does that.

The ticket map for "new" subscribers shows no seats available on the east side of the stadium. I don't know if this means they are closing that whole side, or perhaps making it available only for single-game sales. If we're only going to sell half the seats, from an atmosphere standpoint it would definitely be most fun to have everyone crammed together on the west side. But a bad look for TV, obviously.

The biggest (really the only) disappointment for me personally with the renewal is that we are again getting only eight homes games. I guess we are once again relegated to a "neutral" home game.

People who currently have seats on the east side will be able to renew, or add seats. The goal is to, as you mention, create more of an "Argos family" atmosphere on the west side with more members sitting there. We also want to focus our group sales on the east side.

    Thank you for renewing!

I re-upped on line today. Didn't notice like Paul did that there are only 8 home games. Arriba Mexico!

I just renewed my seat in section 225 for $160, rather than $199. I am assuming my account was credited from 2019 to the tune of 2 lost home games (the unplayed home playoff game, and the lost Als game to Moncton), as opposed to us only having 8 home games in 2020. Am I correct in this assumption? I hope so!
Edit: upon further review, I see we did lose a game, apparently.

Section 125 moved from Gold to Platinum last season. The heavy influx of members moving into our section in 126 was a frequent topic of discussion with our new seat mates. 126 is unmatched in value, especially if you can snag an isle seat like myself. I will always renew at that price point because I don’t want to lose them. It’s hard to believe someone 4 feet across the isle from me is paying hundreds more.

Only 8 Regular Season Home Games, again? Sorry that's simply unacceptable to me.

I agree Neely, the Argos have sacrificed enough home games over the years.

It's for the benefit of the league.CFL 2.0 requires buy-in from the Toronto market. The Argos only have to sacrifice games for the next two seasons.

Will renew tomorrow. It's just a matter of 2 or 3.

Agreed it would be nice if someone else we're to host the neutral site game. As long as most games are on Saturdays then I'm good.

Interesting timing of the renewal notices coming late in the day. Part of me thinks it was based on the results of the Halifax stadium vote today that happened a couple hours earlier. A no vote and perhaps no Touchdown Atlantic and we have 9 home games?

Explain why the Argos who have already given up more than their fair share of home dates in the past “only have to sacrifice games for the next two seasons”
If this is for the benefit of the league as you say then let the other franchises sacrifice some home dates to help the cause, ridiculous to keep taking home dates from the Argos and their fans.

If they really need the Argonauts there then they can be the Visiting team!

Until the Argos can turn around the business side of things and start averaging a decent number of ticket sales, they should be the one to sacrifice a home game. I hate losing a home game, but it makes sense to me.

Yes you definitely build up a fanbase by having less games for fans to attend and less options for those fans to choose from.

They'll probably give away one of our Saturday afternoon games again too and let us keep the Thursday night game.

Agreed. With only 9 home games a season to begin with, it doesn't make sense. Especially when, if like last year, we go what...6 weeks, give or take, without a home game. To grow the game have the Argos take part in Touchdown Atlantic or Mexico, or whatever, every year, but don't make them have to be the home team. I enjoy attending the games, so it's disappointing for me, as an Argo fan, to lose one. But hey, it's one less Argo game to destroy the turf at BMO Field!

There's no doubt that the TD Atlantic game (assuming that's what it is, rather than the TD Mexico game) will be on a weekend. There's also no doubt that we will get at least one Thursday night game in summer, since TSN needs a full inventory of those and it's not fair to exempt any team. And there's no doubt AV is correct that the Argos keep drawing the short straw on these games because we are the least successful franchise, ticket sales wise.

Has anyone come across any issues accessing their invoice through their account?

I logged in and it states 'no invoices to pay' despite I received an invoice in a separate email from MLSE. I contacted client services this morning and still to get a reply. Don't want to call them yet since it's supposed to be an on-line renewal.

Have you tried "switch account"? MLSE set us all up with new account #s last year but you access both the new one and old one using the same login. There is an option to "switch accounts" at the top right.

Thank you! I didn't even realize the account number changed but now I see it and the invoice appears.
