We have rather a lot of high quality rush ends on the roster, I think.

Felt a player of Willis' stature deserved its own thread.

As I posted on the postseasons thread, It does provide competition for TC. In addition to Hughes (37) and Law (32), the Argos signed former NFLer Eli Harold, who is 27. Willis is 36. In addition to that the Argos may be taking age into account in that all, except Harold, are over 30, and may need to alternate in and out more, as well as be more likely to wear down or be injured as the season progresses.
With live wires like Hughes and Willis on the team it fulfils one of Pinballs objectives - to keep the team from being boring (and get in the media).
Jerry's idea about there being an increased need for rotation is valid.

I'm thinking something underhanded here. I think the Argos are signing him as a player coach, and it's a way of getting around the coaching limitations the league has put on staff numbers and salary. It wouldn't surprise me to see Willis not dress for a single game, but be a part of the team as an "injured" player weekly.
It's us vs the rest of the country
So, he would be a coach who would be able to dress all of a sudden if injuries to DE occur? How much do rookie positional coaches make in the CFL ?
Might be the greatest D-line coach in the world, for all I know, but has zero experience at it; and I never liked the guy's big-mouth / legend in his own mind attitude.
Willis is against strong competition in trying to win a spot on the team but it is a low risk, potential high reward signing. At 36 he probably did not command a strong negotiating position so he was likely signed quite cheaply. If he makes the team, it is a low cost signing and if he doesn't, it hasn't cost the team anything.
If he does play, we'll probably lead the league in offside calls.
The Mayor is coming off a bad season in 2019. At 1 year older perhaps John Bowman would have been a better signing. I believe he still wants to play.
I think your on to something there. I recall a comment about Odell saying that he knows the assignments and responsibilities of every player on the field so coaching seems a good option for his future. It's not like Charelston Hughes needs a lot of coaching.
They will have to hide his uniform to keep him from dressing though.
