    Thanks for the link.

It looks as though Montreal trounced Ottawa last weekend, 36-0. And those two teams play again today.

I found a nice photo gallery from the game:

I think the link here is to a men's team that plays in a 4-down Maritimes league.

The Halifax women's team is the Xplosion.

In the Maritime Women's Football League on June 25th, "History was made in the Championship game of Season 19! In 35 degree weather off the turf(40 degrees on the turf) the Halifax Xplosion and Saint John Storm fought for 3.5 hours in triple OT to a 10-10 draw. Everyone on both teams played until they had nothing left. The two teams came to a mutual agreement to end the game in a tie and crown both teams co-champions this year!"

How cool would it be to get a tournament with the top 4 teams across the country in it? I'm not sure how the levels of the three leagues compare, but at least a match between the Montreal and Saskatoon powerhouses could be fun.

I think it would be great but I think the new Central Canada league needs to achieve greater balance first. The Montreal Blitz outscored the two other teams 111-0, no doubt because they've been playing for two decades in several leagues and independently. Also the Central League is going to find it difficult to expand if Montreal keeps having total domination, just as women's hockey almost got dropped from the Olympics because Canada and the US so utterly dominated the competition there was virtually no interest outside these two countries. So the Canadians and Americans went about helping to develop other countries' teams to keep them in the Olympics and it worked.

The Central Canadian Women's Football League plans to expand with teams in Toronto and Trois Rivieres in 2023, added to the 2022 premier season teams in Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa. More teams are to be added over the next five years.

A 2023 season has been announced by the league, which aims to expand to include teams in Toronto and Trois-Rivières,[4] and elsewhere in Quebec and Ontario within five years.[3]
In May 2022, ten CCWFL players were selected for the primary Canada team roster at the American football 2022 World Championship

Expansion would be great. Kingston would be a good locale, I think.

And our women's National Teams plays their first game at this year's Worlds in Finland tomorrow. IIRC, the game vs Australia starts about 6 AM EDT Saturday morning.

The Maritime Women's Football League (MWFL) was the first women's tackle football league in Canada. It is entering its 20th season played under a mixture of Canadian, American, and its own unique rules.

The league was founded in 2004 as the New Brunswick Women’s Football League, NBWFL. In 2006, it changed to its present name, the MWFL, when Halifax joined the competition....

Since the MWFL began, the Western Women's Canadian Football League and Central Canadian Women's Football League have also been established in other regions of the country.

    Modified rules[edit]

In the MWFL, the playing field is a regulation Canadian football field, 65 yards wide, but offences are permitted four downs (rather than the usual three) to move the ball forward 10 yards. The one-yard neutral zone is the same as in regular Canadian football. Instead of 12 players per side, MWFL teams play with 11 per team according to the league's 2012 rules.[5] As of 2012, the four timed quarters are each 12 minutes long ordinarily, but 15 minutes long in the final two weeks of the regular season.[5] The league's former rules in 2007[6] stipulated that games were played with 10 players per team, in four quarters of 10 minutes each.
    League champions[edit]

The league championship is known as the SupHer Bowl, while the championship trophy is known as the Judy Upward Trophy.[7]
