If BC doesn't try, after the horrid performance by that rookie Global kicker, they are dumb-@SS coached as it gets. Kid looked like he could barely reach a 40 yarder; but perhaps he rebounds. And the Bombers have vet Crapigna place-kicking to go with rookie Liegghio punting (whose last season of college ball kicking stats showed better numbers both punting & place-kicking than most CFL kickers - all CFL teams could have drafted him). And BTW - where did I say it was "easy" ? Are you confusing that concept with worth trying ?
BTW - all those teams dressed 2 kickers (though the Bombers did win the GC last season with only one kicker - Medlock - dressed - rolled the dice and won)

It's "easy" to find football players at each and every position, and good players who would be wiling to play for CFL wages as well - there's tons of them out there - a CFL team could field a TC roster of 200 players with all sorts of competition at every position if they wanted to (and the PRs have been expanded for this season); if the Argos run into a string of injuries at any position; I guarantee you they will be able to bring in replacements; or do you think they would just go with 5 O-Linemen or 4 DBs on the game roster ? Finding really good talent to replace or back-up existing players is maybe not easy, but again, there are lots of players out there and smart scouts know how to identify talent. It's also super easy to change your game day roster make-up.
The choice to go with just one kicker on your game roster (and when you have zero/zip/nadda as an emergency in-game replacement on the roster), is a choice of the GM and coaches who make up that roster. If they want to gamble the one and only kicker on the roster is never going to get injured, well that's just swell; have at 'er. ZERO NFL teams - where they have really large rosters and less players on the field - carry just one dual kicker; and some have been known to dress a 3rd kicker specialist - a guy who can boom long kick-offs - have been on rosters there.
As I said, I'm celebrating an amazing win. Much as I enjoy arguing with you, OV, this is turning into same old/same old that no one on this forum needs to be subjected to.

I'm very happy with the Argo win as well.
But you have this stance of laughing-off any criticism or comments of the team from i guess know nothing couch potatoes who i guess you feel have no business questioning the inscrutable Argo brain-trust ? Whats the point of these forums ? -cheer-leading and celebrating Argo wins only ?
You are welcome to your belief that CFL teams are quite fine with carrying only one capable kicker on the game roster; I disagree; and i really hope Bede stays healthy all season; plus does not revisit his previous CFL days of shanking/blowing easily makeable FGs & converts.

Why give a game-day roster spot to a second place-kicker who might see the field as an injury replacement one game every second or third season? Waste of resources.
I'm sure they plan for such an emergency by giving the occasional practice rep to someone who kicked in high school. Might not be as good an option as Stala or Hardy, but at least it's something. Also adds to the drama in those rare games a kicker gets hurt.
So, who's the Argo emergency kicker this season? Maybe somebody should ask an Argo team thinker ?
Teams who carry 2 separate kickers (punter & place-kicker) pretty well don't have the worry as much = pretty well guaranteed the 2nd kicker could take over the other job with some competence.
Mind you - i guess the 5th string back-up LB who never sees the field on D, could win the game with a big ST play, when one of the starters who might have to go out on STs instead was too gassed to make the play ? Saw that just all the time in the days of smaller CFL rosters where a bunch of starters had to play STs as well. ;o)
Very sound and logical points can be made on both sides of the 2nd kicker argument. Yes, it does seem a waste of a player if the 2nd kicker is never needed but then again a game could be easily lost if the one kicker dressed got injured early in the game.
I'd probably lean towards dressing 2 kickers but can fully understand the view of those who disagree.
Enjoyed the debate, though.
