It was great to see this book advertised on the Jumbotron during Wednesday's game. Any idea how many copies got sold during the game, or do you have to wait until the end of the season (or, to think optimistically, they get sold out!)?

They sold at least one! Happy to report I picked a copy up. An enjoyable, engaging read!

My favourite memory of the year is the heart-on-the-sleeve passion John Candy showed for the CFL all season long.

Thanks, everyone, for all the kind words. I don't know how many copies the team has sold; hopefully by the end of the season they will run out of their inventory and order more!

Hey everyone, my publisher has put together a virtual panel discussion next Tuesday (Oct. 19) at 7 p.m. ET.

If you have ever wanted to ask a question of legendary Argonaut Carl Brazley, this is your chance. Or you submit questions for Richard Peddie (former head of SkyDome) or retired Star journalists Paul Hunter and Mary Ormsby. And, er, me. Hope to see you many of you there. Sign up soon -- it's free, but space is limited!

The publisher's rep is definitely looking to line up some questions in advance, so I will ask. I expect there might be something on Twitter tomorrow. Failing that, via the chat feature during the event. (It will be run on a Zoom platform.)

Makes you wonder, we’re the Argos actually interested in signing Pinball, based on his skill or film or scouting reports or was Sazio just interested in bringing in a William and Mary grad, just because.

The Argos had a pretty good kick / punt returner in the 1988 season named Pernell Moore. He was also developing nicely as a receiver. However, he suffered an injury either at the end of the 1988 season or during training camp in 1989 that ended his career in the CFL. I believe Pinball was brought in with the intention of replacing Moore. The 1989 Argonauts were a very poor team offensively and Pinball was used a bit at running back. No doubt that the William & Mary connection played a factor though.

It is said that Matthews rejuvenated Clemons' career a bit in '96 and '97 so it was interesting to read that he wasn't certain what role #31 could play in his offense heading into the 1990 season. Thank you to Adam Rita for recognizing what he could do. Toronto wouldn't be the same without him.

Moore suffered an in game injury in 1988. I specifically remember the sideline interview with him when he was ruled out for the rest of the game. He told the sideline reporter that he had a deep bruise in his thigh, and then we never heard from him again. Very strange.

I think you are referring to a 52-3 blowout over the Rough Riders. I was just watching that game a few days ago and Moore did get injured and Scott Oake interviewed him on the sidelines.

I would have to do some research on either newspapers.com or the Star Archives to determine whether Moore was in camp in 1989.

Pernell Moore's disappearance has always been one of the great mysteries in Argonauts history. I thought he would have been a star for years to come in this league.

He suffered the aforementioned injury in 1988-1989. Either the injury was devastating enough to be career ending or he was a victim of the coaching change that took place following the 1989 season.
