From what I read, a few Toronto players and I think the opposition coach said it would be better than what they
stood on yesterday. Let's face facts, in a city like TO, if u want a consistent field , grass is not the way to go. Consistency is key here.

The grass will eventually come into form. It was an unusually cold and long winter. The hybrid turf used in world class soccer stadiums, such as Wembley, should be the answer. Interesting that Wembley's caretaker believes American football is easier on his grass than soccer. Tim Leiweke said again on the TFC telecast, that it is only 8 football games a year. I count 10 games with a likely playoff, so Tim, it's more like 11.

    Where did you read this?

Like ArgoZ mentioned the weather played a big factor regarding the condition of the pitch on Saturday and the Desso GrassMaster hybrid pitch they plan to install should improve the consistency.

I think Leiweke keeps saying 8 games a year because he's thinking the CFL has the same amount of regular season home games as the NFL and no one has bothered to correct him. Regardless of what the Wembley caretaker says about which sport does more damage to a natural surface, it is irrelevant to the fact that adding 10 or 11 Argo games at BMO Field will add more field maintenance challenges than if the Argos weren't moving in at all. MLSE most likely would have installed the Desso GrassMaster system at BMO Field even if the Argos weren't moving in.

    TFC Ratings

I was looking for the Raptors ratings and I found this:

"While the Raptors are showing promise, their soccer brethren aren't faring so well on television. In what has to be a major embarrassment, the team's game against Dallas on Saturday drew the interest of only 35,000 viewers to Sportsnet One.
Granted, Saturday night during the hockey playoffs is never good for ratings and Sportsnet One doesn't have the widest distribution. But 35,000 is the kind of audience you'd expect for lumberjack competitions. This is not what MLSE envisioned when it paid out all those millions for star players."
