I regret that the offseason has started.
I would, however, prefer that significant news get its own thread.

It begins...
The offseason has begun 📝
— Toronto Argonauts (@TorontoArgos) December 15, 2021
We've re-signed:
🇺🇸 WR Cam Phillips
🇺🇸 DB Tarvarus McFadden
And signed:
🇨🇦 WR @sam_bakes13
🇨🇦 FB Joe Carbone
🇺🇸 LB Tony Jones
Good to see we are pressing ahead even in the absence of a personnel boss. Baker and Phillips are intriguing prospects.

I would like Brescacin back, but he has not been durable the past few seasons.

Some pretty important re-signings just got completed today... Robbie Smith, Dariusz Bladek, Alex Chevrier, Dewayne Hendrix

Excellent !
Particularly Bladek & Smith IMO.
Bladek maybe entering his prime as a CFL O-Lineman
Robbie Smith has been very good from rookie on in; good pass rusher, and also a real motor that makes him good in run-stopping & pursuit (led Argo DEs in tackles this past season). I'm hoping the Argos are able to sign 2021 draft pick Luiji Vilain, and if he has a good camp and impresses, he could team with Smith at one DE spot, and that could be a full-time NI spot on D perhaps.
And with Acheampong at DT (Marion might surprise too); Muamba & Judge at LB (with Cassar & Hoyte as good young depth guys); hoping Colquhon can return to the D-backfield (anybody heard anything on his injury status and rehab ? ), and Hagerty at safety (very good safety crop this coming draft as well - I'd go there with the 1st pick and hope the guy can compete with Hagerty and the winner in TC is a possible starter at safety) = the Argos have about the best Canadian defensive talent in the CFL, and could start 4 or 5 easily if they wanted to.
I do love our NAT depth on D, especially Acheampong and Smith on the line, but Muamba is a free agent -- although I expect he will be re-signed (and IMO he deserves a nice raise). I expect Judge will be released or traded, and I doubt Colquhoun comes back (just gut instinct on that one). Hagerty will definitely be back and could male big strides in Year 2, as will Cassar and Hoyte.

Judge was a huge disappointment as an Argo IMO - maybe moreso than Charleston Hughes, because Judge is much younger; OTOH, Judge did really not play that much, so like to see what he could do still with some real playing time - i gather he is fairly expensive though, but so was Hughes and he should be history; and with Edwards suspended, they need a new other OLB (i'd move on from Edwards anyways - decent talent but a hot-head), and a LB crew of Muamba flanked by Judge & McCoil might be a real play-making unit (McCoil needs to be on the field at all-times IMO so they could play some games by moving him around for different looks or situations, and he would have cover skills).
You don't think Colquhon will be back because the injury looked so bad? Another NI guy who I think could be a real solid starter on D (at corner), and isn't he an Ontario guy ? Hagerty has a long way to go I think, but maybe learned lots this past season; and again, could easily go for another safety with a top pick in the draft (CFL Scouting Bureau's #5 prospect in the last ranking is Sydney Brown (Illinois; and from London, On.) - though he might go very early in the draft.
gilthethrill will give Bryant the official send off, he will be missed.
