He really didn't play that much with McCoil playing most reps at that position; but when he was in, didn't show much IMO. Like to see him back if it's in the budget - him and Muamba at the 2 key LB positions = talented vets. Argos giving supposedly big CFL bucks to Bladek - hope it doesn't limit signing some other good players.
Argos might be able to draft U Sports D player of the year J. Schakel - LB from Alberta Bears - doesn't seem like a top rated CFL draft prospect so far, although he did make the recent top 20 CFL Scouting Bureau list at #14, which sometimes does not equate to much come draft day = might be able to get him in the mid rounds.
If Judge is deemed too expensive or signs elsewhere - Trevor Hoyte might be able to win that OLB job - more his natural position as opposed to MLB - thought he flashed some decent LB talent last season.

Judge had an underwhelming season but was it because of a persistent injury or lack of motivation? Whatever the case it has certainly weakened his case for a good contract for 2022.
Based on his previous performance before coming to the Argos, he does appear to have the talent and might bounce back this coming year. I suspect it won't be with the Argos, however.
Hoyte did impress and might be a serious candidate to replace McCoil. The team has a number of American possibilities, including Travis Feeney and more recently signed Cam Glen, Solomon Ajayi and Alani Pututau. Feeney played very well this year and his 4.5 speed might make him a good candidate for the role.
Argos are close to a new deal with Henoc Muamba according to Naylor

Re-signing your key guys before FA seems to be the league's approach this season. But the closer we get to Feb. 15 with Collaros still unsigned, the more speculation will grow about him coming to Toronto. Is it likely? No. Could it happen? Maybe.

Bombers may not be able to pay him what he wants. They re-signed Bighill now too and as reigning MODP, I can't see him taking the same home town discount he did last year. They've spent a lot of money on their top 3 defensive players, and still have the likes of Lawlor and Harris and Stanley Bryant unsigned. There is only so much money to go around, and I suspect Collaros feels like they are low balling him. He's won his two rings now with the Bombers. I can see him wanting to finish his career where he and his family live year round.
Truthfully, It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Collaros back in Toronto and the Bombers signing Trevor Harris.

In the same Don Landry chat (re: football ops), Pinball said they are working to re-sign MBT.

IF, MBT can be re-signed as a vet QB, hope they roll with developing a couple of young guns behind him (including giving them significant reps in the reg. season); rather than some desperate signing of an "experienced" QB for the sake of it = no to Trevor Harris or Nichols type.
With Collaros off the board (and I'm surprised he not only didn't test the market, but took just a one-year deal), IMO there is no doubt MBT is the best available and realistic option. Just as I wanted no part of Nichols in 2020, I want no part of Harris now. I wouldn't mind Masoli as a 1b to MBT's 1a (assuming Masoli is able to enter and travel within the country this year, a big if) but I would not anoint him as the No. 1 guy over MBT at this point. None of Edm's three guys interests me. So get MBT signed and let's get on with building a championship-calibre roster around him.
