What did Masoli do in that same game? MBT outplayed him twice head to head in victories, and I still stand by my comments that if the Argos don't allow the punt return TD in that game, Hamilton gets blown out. Huge momentum swing and Hamilton had done nothing offensively up to that point.
I firmly believe you will see a big season from MBT. This is the first time he goes into camp as the undisputed starter. It will make a huge difference. Too many people can't get over the back to back 4-14 seasons. They were really bad teams and he out performed every QB he has been up against the last 3 seasons. I have a great deal of confidence in him.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Finally. Good news.
They would have had very good reason to be afraid of that. Head into free agency without a QB signed (other than a backup and a kid), and you might very well end up with a guy you don't like or want -- like Harris, who IMO is by far the least desirable of the three "names" who would have been FAs had MBT not been signed. Why take that chance?
Not to mention, the coaching staff knows what MBT brings to the table, and he now has a year's experience in Dinwiddie's offence. He is by far the best option of the three, IMO.
And we all saw what happened three years ago when the Argos went all in on Bo, only to have him take less money to re-sign in Calgary. If you target a particular FA, and base your whole strategy around that, it can blow up in your face quite easily.

They obviously were. From 4-14 to a home playoff game is a massive difference.
You can also pin the loss on not being able to prevent a punt return TD, or too many breakdowns in passpro, or blitzing way too much in the second half, or a bunch of other things. MBT was hardly the obvious villain.
