For the record, my son was enraged when Darby was traded. He really wants him back.

I was too and made my feelings here and on twitter known about it. You don’t trade a good player that is also involved in the community. It’s rare to have American players live here year round, and if they are good players, as Darby is, you keep them.

Poole obviously didn't work out, but as it turned out Allen was mostly very good at LT. I anticipate he will be even better this season, especially if he gets a heavy push from Martez Ivey, who made one sensational block in the Edmonton game. American OTs sometimes start to blossom in their second year (e.g. SirVincent Rogers was OK in Year 1, way better in Year 2, and an all-star after leaving us for Ott in Year 3).
