Edmonton has signed ten players and released one on the first day of free agency.

The Elks made eleven transactions on Tuesday, including the key additions of Kenny Lawler (WR), Mark Korte (OL), Ed Gainey (DB) and 2015 Grey Cup champion Deon Lacey (LB).
Also joining the Green and Gold were free agents Adam Konar (LB), Mak Henry (DL), Tobi Antigha (LB), Jalin Marshall (WR), and Nakas Onyeka (LB). In addition to those moves, Edmonton inked CFL rookie Quart’e Sapp (LB), and released Keishawn Bierria (LB).

With all the free agent signings that Chris Jones is making for Edmonton, local columnist Terry Jones is making a fearless prediction for the 2021 home game winless team.

There goes my prediction that Trevor Harris may wait until a QB goes down to sign in an attempt to become the starting QB. Harris has signed with Montreal.

The Lions have signed American DL Steven Richardson and Canadians WR Daniel Petermann and Mathieu Betts, who likely would have went #1 overall if he was not going to end up in the NFL initially, but then sank to the lowly #3 position. They also brought back Canadian David Menard from Montreal, where he had 8 sacks and won the Eastern Most Outstanding Canadian award.

The Riders have also brought back two former Riders to Regina: Canadian OL Josiah St. John on a contract extension and American Derrick Moncrief who had been with the LA Rams PR in 2020-21 and then with the Elks.

Calgary has signed former Argo DL and sack master Shawn Lemon, not bad for Hufnagel who said he could only afford to eat at McDonalds having spent all his money on re-signings.

Huge get for them to replace the departed Lawler & Adams; and Ellingson is easily a better all-around receiver than either of those 2 IMO.

Easily? At age 33 having lost some of his speed and hasn't been a clear #1 since 2018? Good one!

Ellingson might have lost the proverbial "step" - have you seen recent 40 time evidence to back this up ?; Ellingson's Combine 40 time (4.44) coming out of college ball was basically receiver light years faster than Lawler's (4.64) at that test.

Maybe you are saying he is washed-up: cause he played in a $hite offence last season? did you see him drop lots of passes or run bad routes or get caught from behind by DBs all the time ? I'll take the 5 x 1,000 receiving yards resume any day until I see on field evidence to say it doesn't mean anything anymore.
