    Andrew Harris to the Argos?

Farhan Lalji suggests Argos have strong interest in Andrew Harris. I would be okay if they can get him cheap to use as part of a set of RBs but as the premier RB I don't think he can avoid being repeatedly injured.

I hope the Argos now draft J.K. Cimankinda and Adam Machart, and go Canadian at running back.

I know he is 35, but I love this. Might be a perfect backfield tandem with DJ Foster. I think the Argos will look at ways to get them on the field together too.

Good to give this its own thread. As I said in the general FA thread, I like this. I don't expect him to be an every-down, 360-touches back any more, but he will be a significant weapon for someone if he's healthy. No question he will have a chip on his shoulder. Clearly he can't carry the load on his own, but he showed in the playoffs last season that he can still be a force. Fantastic receiver out of the backfield.

The Argos already have Dion Pellerin who is a real tailback and a big powerback who accomplished much more than Cimankinda at the same level; love to see Machart (a real quick & shifty moves guy) added and follow that Bummers model ... that just helped produce 2 straight GCs (and undrafted Augustine was excellent when he played) - doubt we will see that, but maybe.

I think Cimankinda will do well in the CFL

No question he plays with a chip on his shoulder. I think Winnipeg used him smartly and if the Argos do too they have the potential to get a lot out of him. Once they knew they were in the playoffs, they rested him. Then bang!. He was able to be the old Harris driving through players for 80 yards on 18 carries. Maybe not the absolute best Harris but a damn lot better than a lot of RBs would have done. One bonus is that teaming him with DJ Foster would give you two of the best pass catching RBs in the CFL, adding another dimension to the Argos passing game.

This moves shows the team means business. Harris is obviously a big name to CFL fans, and in a perfect world more sports fans in the Toronto area at large would get excited about the prospect of having him in Double Blue. It's obviously well-known he's Canadian, but I occasionally forget that. He's obviously an excellent talent, but in this market it's as important to have marketable talent, and his National/Non-Import status should mean something.

Here's hoping the 2020 lost season has added to the longevity of Harris' career in spite of missing significant action in 2021.

Very happy for this signing, but nobody should be happier than Bethel-Thompson. Harris is gonna make him look even better this season.

Not sure what to make of this signing, mainly because of the age factor.
Definitely in his prime Harris was outstanding and will be a sure hall of famer.
Coming off last years injury does worry me a little bit.
The likelihood of him in the backfield with Foster is appealing.

A lot of money for a RB Harris' age, and the injury issues last season. TBH, I was hoping the Argos would nap Oliveira, as I thought his Thunder would compliment Foster's Lightning.

It's been reported that Harris showed up to camp last year out of shape and that may have contributed to his injuries. Apparently Wpg wanted to monitor his off season training which Harris didn't agree to. So I think this factored in with his departure. One thing everyone agrees on is his locker room presence and leadership.

A good signing and I'm okay with that price tag. I thought it might be higher.

It probably bothered Sid that he had bring himself down to talk CFL.

I think that this is yet another promising sign that MLSE hasn't given up on the Argos or CFL.

Despite the anti MLSE narrative out there they have allowed Pinball and his staff to be very aggressive in free agency the last couple of years.
