While Harris and Banks are both in their 35th year, the idea seems to be to provide MBT with as many targets as possible. I think it will be amusing to see if the same Ti-Cats fans that were wishing him luck and calling him a GOAT, etc., will suddenly be calling him washed and overrated.

Have no idea if these investments (though short-term) will pay off, but I at least like the fact they are making news with some marketable talent.

Aside from irritating Ti-Cat fans I am highly skeptical of this signing.

Strange. My posts from either my IPAD or IPHONE are cutting off all but the first few characters I type after I hit submit. Once I go and post from my desktop, all is OK.

Anyway, I had posted that I don't like this signing. If I'm wrong, I am big enough to admit it, but Banks has really bad body language when things don't go his way. For those thinking he will turn around their return game, I don't see it. I know he was used less in recent years in the return game, and people say it's because he took a bigger role on O, but I'm not so sure I buy that. He only had a combined 25 punt/KO returns this past season, but averaged 6.3 per PR and 16.8 per KOR. Those are not good numbers no matter how you look at it.

I'm slightly irritated, but hardly shocked. There's only 8 other teams to go to, and Ham/Tor, despite being rivals have a huge collection of mutual alumni due to being geographically close. Montford, Owens, AB3, Ruben, Van Zyl, Zambiasi, Ealey., O'Shea, Steinauer, all examples of great players who have played for both (in most cases spending the tail end of their career with one team after spending their best years with the others.

TC fans really shouldn't be that upset (although I'm sure some are). It's not like he spurned us to join the Argos. The Cats didn't want him anymore. We knew he wasnt returning. Davis hurts more.. he was given similiar deals from both clubs and joined the Argos. That's worse IMO.

Banks may be a useful piece but I am not expecting him to be a major contributor in 2022.

Great list of Argos/Cats alumni TheHammer. TBH I am surprised at this move. I thought Banks would go unsigned and move on from pro football.

Looks like the test may have worked. For those using apple devices, it appears that an apostrophe is causing all characters after said apostrophe get cut out of your posting. Credit to gillthethrill for figuring that one out.

For those with Apple products, you'll have to be like Mr. Data from Star Trek and avoid contractions.

As with Andrew Harris I hope Banks uses this as motivation to get himself healthy and in top condition for the 2022 season.
I do not mind this move but am taking a wait and see approach regarding Banks, the best part is many Ticat fans will have their shorts in a knot over this one.👍

Of the past half-decade (or even more) of Ticats football, has there been a player more impactful than Brandon Banks? The only weirder thing would have been Simoni Lawrence signing in Toronto.

Difference being, Harris was very productive on the field. He averaged 90 yards per game in the regular season (a 1600 yard pace over a full 18 game season) and over 100 yards per game in the post season. Though he missed games with injuries, there was no decline in production when he was on the field. The same can't be said for Banks. He's a shell of his former self, and I believe at his size, age plays more of a factor than it does for a bigger player. Tougher to take the punishment at 150lbs going into your mid 30's. He might have a big game here or there, but I think his days of being elite talent are done.
