Ambrosie should be as good as gone if there is a long-term work stoppage.

He should have been gone a long time ago, talks a big game and delivers nothing.

There won't be, but if there is, Ambrosie will not be responsible. He probably has the least power of any commissioner in any pro sport. The owners are making all of the decisions on mgmt's bargaining strategy.

I feel so bad for the CFL BOG and their guy Ambrosia - such noble & righteous care-takers of the storied CFL.

And damn those uppity commie players not agreeing to what their masters tell them to do.

What a total F-ing joke the CFL has evolved to; to paraphrase The Joker (Jack Nicholson) in Batman: "this league needs an enema" Too bad moron, total clown owners can't be fired. I wish Doman in BC coulda bought the whole frickin' league, and started cleaning house, like the Hulkster . ;o)

    According to Farhan Lalji:
The salary cap & ratio moves are not the main issues. No more formal bargaining sessions are scheduled. But I would expect informal discussions to continue daily.

This is what the league is faced with, I'm a long time fan.
And right now I really don't care. The owners have had there heads up there asses for years. I could go on, but as I said I don't care.

So many people seem to believe this, but I do not fully buy into it. Ambrosie makes his recommendations to the board. Do you really think it would be the board that came up with the waste of time and money known as CFL 2.0? I truly believe he tells the board that the PA will crumble and they should lowball their offers. Ambrosie is a well educated man. I do not think he would stay in his current roll if he is not given power.

CFL 2.0 might well have been Ambrosie's idea, but IMO there is no chance he is devising the bargaining strategy. Mind you, the CFL's bargaining strategy has not changed for decades. They have always jammed the PA, and won, in the past; this time might be different.

For a guy who has had some pretty prominent jobs in his career Ambrosie conducts himself in a curious and unprofessional manner.
Releasing the owners offer publicly was a pathetic attempt to sway public opinion in the owners favour which in fact failed miserably and further proved that the owners are out to screw the players.
This leagues treatment of the players is pretty sad.
Apathy from loyal customers is increasing and not a great sign, wonder how long it will take these clowns to figure this out?

The Players , rules and the fans make the league special. I wish they would throw the players a bone. Focus should be on generating revenue not cutting salary's and changing the rules to make our league more NFL like... Lets go.

Even with the community-owned teams, the league has by far the richest ownership group they've had in league history. They can afford even the most extreme CFLPA proposal, and no sane person sees the players as being extreme. Maybe some of those rich dudes are just too out of touch with reality.

Time is ticking. If this goes into the weekend, they're asking for trouble.

The two sides maybe getting close to an agreement. As per John Hodge of 3 down nation the CFLPA will provide an update later this afternoon to its membership.

Riders do not want to lose a pre season home date in which players aren't paid.

Agree, you're probably right about this.

Also, we're seeing the hypocrite Commissioner out in the media now, so they must be close. He even has the gall to praise Nathan Rourke as a Canadian QB, especially since his focus now and over the past few years has been to remove the ratio.

Everyone knows that if there was no ratio, teams would never have given him and most Canadians a chance, even if we all know they have the skill.

They have reached a tentative seven-year collective bargaining agreement.

Couldn't agree more. Any reduction of the number of Canadians and especially Canadian starters hurts this league.

And the new agreement has the potential to remove one Canadian starter and replace him with a vet import who qualifies as a National - starting next season was the proposal ?

Same old CFL $hite to swing the pendulum to more Americans and less Canadians; but hey- according to Randy and the BOGoofs, Canadian players are the "backbone" of the league. What a "radical" crock . BUT - CFL GMs and coaches have the opportunity to counter the biased B$ with the decisions they make - Argos to do their best to go with 7 only need apply this coming season ?
