Sheldon might have been more useful on specials than either of the Joneses. Obviously too early to say what all three will become. But Sheldon starting at MLB tells me he has decent potential.

I loved Collins last season. Can't say how much he has contributed to Edm so far, but I'm just about positive he is better than Caleb Holden, whom we had to play when injuries struck.

Trevor Harris had a field day targeting Holden a couple of weeks ago, wasn’t overly impressed with him at all.
But I guess in fairness it was a tough situation for him to be put in.

"Improving Bombers have chance to kick Argos while they’re down"

Though he has every right to act as such, Mr. Wyman's overconfidence and cavalier attitude still bothers me lol.

The more I think about this, the more I disagree. The Argos were not the best team in the CFL last season, and yet they have gotten rid of five players who are now on other teams' game rosters. Has any other team, including the two-time champions, had any of their cuts make another team's roster? Maybe a handful, in total, but no other team has provided five handouts.

If the Argos had kept Pipkin instead of Simmons, would any team have signed Simmons? If they had cut one of the Joneses instead of Sheldon? If they had cut Holden instead of Decoud? If they had cut Tate instead of trading Ivey? And the most glaring of all -- if they had cut any of the three or four new receivers they kept longer than Worthy? Would Wright, or Richardson, to name two, have been snapped up by Montreal as a kick returner?

Bob O'Billovich had the saying, "better is better." He was rightfully accused of making too many roster moves but some would work and others would not. We shall see what happens with this coaching staff's decisions but, at some point, I too would like to see more roster continuity.

Obviously I am becoming like a broken record about the roster (and I guess this is not the correct thread for this discussion), but if I interpret the depth chart and transactions list correctly, we have released both Tony Jones (INT LB) and Jonathan Zamora (NAT C-G). Jones was presumably one of the reasons we released Sheldon. Zamora's departure leaves us even thinner on an already thin o-line, with MacKellar now activated despite looking decidedly unready in preseason. Oh, and as noted elsewhere, Simmons is off the game roster and presumably is now just filling a PR spot until a better QB prospect can be found somewhere. Bet B.C. is pretty happy to have Pipkin, though.

And even the best O-lines break down every now and then. This is why, unless they consistently throw dimes like Ricky Ray, the best CFL QBs have good mobility and escapability.
