The XFL is certainly not trending in the right direction with their TV ratings: https://thespun.com/nfl/xfl-announce...s-after-week-2
Their attendance was abysmal this past weekend too although XFL fans will be quick to point out that they expect solid numbers in both San Antonio and St. Louis this season.

I wouldn’t call it a consensus more that ESPN trying to somewhat hype a product they would like to make money off of. The offence through 2 weeks has been horrible. For the record, I don’t think the league lacks talent, but they will always have issues with continuity with such a short TC and no pre season games, similar to the CFL in 2021.
It's us vs the rest of the country
There are a lot of former XFL 2.0 players on CFL rosters who are great players. I agree, there is talent in that league and continuity will always be an issue. But where talent issues are a problem I think is on the OLine and QB…and with a poor OLine the QB looks even worse. Case in point, Orlando, possibly the worst team in the XFL just signed Canadian FA OT Brett Boyko.
O-line in particular is where continuity is needed. The continuity will always be an issue for the XFL (until it once again dies) because of their insistence to start their season immediately after the Super Bowl and not have real training camps. Of course real trading camps cost money to house and feed a lot of players, so I don’t see this happening.

XFL TV ratings continue to decline: https://www.thebiglead.com/posts/xfl...k-01gtyr5n1yzk
They are basically drawing what the CFL on TSN gets except that the XFL has access to a market that is 10 times what the CFL has access to.

XFL announces that Teremana Tequila is the official tequilas of the XFL. Could we be seeing a “Tequila Snake” in DC?
The hapless Vegas Vipers have relieved OC Duane Taylor of his duties…..1 day before the Vipers next game.
Where have I seen this before?
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...y-in-week-two/The third iteration of the XFL saw ratings significantly lower than those generated by XFL 2.0 in 2020. In Week Two, the drop for the XFL was even sharper than it was three years ago.
Via Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal, the viewership for the second week plummeted by 50 percent. The four games, televised by FX, ESPN, and ESPN2, averaged only 643,000 viewers.
In 2020, the drop from Week One to Week Two was 34 percent.
All games finished under one million viewers. Sunday’s San Antonio-Orlando contest led the week with 781,000 viewers. The Thursday night game pitting St. Louis against Seattle generated only 542,000 viewers.
In 2020, no XFL game finished until a million viewers until Week Five.
Attendance also has been sluggish for XFL 3.0. Via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com, 12,011 showed up in Orlando, 11,675 in Houston, 10,386 in Seattle, and 6,023 in Las Vegas.
Through two weeks, that’s average attendance of 12,712.
The numbers aren’t horrible, but the trend is troubling. Three years after the XFL’s second try, the third installment has yet to resonate — despite the connection to the massive promotional platform that ESPN brings to the table.
