Argos lead divisional all-stars (or so we thought)

    Argos have 16 Divisional All-Stars

My brain says that's generous while my heart says congratulations to all of these guys!

    McLeod Bethel-Thompson (QB)
Andrew Harris (RB) -- Heck, A.J Ouelette was more deserving than Harris, and I thought Ouelette would lose out to Antwi.
    Kurleigh Gittens Jr (WR)
    Justin Lawrence (C)
    Dejon Allen (T)
    Dariusz Bladek (G)
    Philip Blake (T)
    Ja'Gared Davis (DE)
    Shawn Oakman (DT)
    Wynton McManis (LB)
    Chris Edwards (LB)
    Jamal Peters (CB)
    DaShaun Amos (HB)
Boris Bede (K) -- each of the other three Eastern kickers had better FG% than him
    John Haggerty (P)
Daniel Adeboboye (ST) -- Chandler Worthy or Lawrence Woods didn't win?

Not sure how Justin Lawrence ended up on this list, and Bede was also a curious (bad) choice for this year.

Four of our o-lineman as East all-stars is...interesting. Did Frank Zicarelli get multiple ballots?

How many games did Blake play at OT to get picked there?

Again - all-star teams often feature name recognition, vet players who have done more in the past than the current season; shows the football IQ of some of the selectors though.

Definitely too many Argos, and some not deserving compared to other guys. Bede would be the first guy to say Small had a better year. Worthy has a great case to beat out Adeboboye. Some of the choices, like Edwards and Harris, seem to be based on reputation. One of the problems is that when the pool is only four teams, pickings can be slim. Look at the coach-of-the-year choice -- four coaches to choose among; two of them got fired.

Pretty sure just because Jones and LaPo were fired they are still eligible for the COY award Paul.

The RB choices in the East were not fruitful. Antwi of the Alouettes led the East in rushing and I think he got 600 yards.

Andrew Harris wasn't even the best RB on the Argos. That goes to A.J Ouelette.

Were the all-star teams picked by a combo of fans and media this year or were they picked by fans alone?
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

A combination although I am not certain what the weighting was for each.

There was no East RB who played the whole season consistently as a starter.

Ouellette could have got the nod over Harris; Antwi for the Als had 2 of the biggest gainers on the season for all RBs; Thomas-Erlington had the best yds/carry average of all RBs in the league i believe. Andrew Harris must have got it on name recognition alone - his yds/carry average ended up very sub-par /low.

I wonder if they mistakenly released the fan voting and didn't factor in the football writer votes.

Looks like the corrected lists are out. Argos with 9 eastern all stars. What a blunder by the league. Sadly, I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot lately.
