Someone on Reddit said 7am. Others said 9am. I’m not sure how many do tailgate on the forum.

The Tailgate starts whenever you get there! The south side parking lot is always open. If your too early and the gates are unmanned, your supposed to pay with the machines, but I don’t see that happening unless you arrive before 7am. With a 1pm start and many people leaving early to get sweaters, I’d expect the regular tailgaters to be there by 9am.
