He has good size, speed, explosiveness and has played well in U Sport football. He injured his knee on the last day of the combine so he may be passed over if he can't start the season. If he is available at#27, I'd grab him.
Good to see him identify receiver and safety as possible Argo thinking; can't possibly see need for further good ole Canadian O-line "depth" so hopefully they steer clear there; and with a real deep crop at safety this draft, there should still be a very good prospect at #27. Like to see it be Cormier but I think he and Taylor will both be gone by then; but there's still Ringland or Jaxon Ford or Jake Kelly if they choose to make safety the 1st priority. If it's receiver I believe both Clark Barnes and Murphy will be gone by #27, so Daniel Perry (better set of Combine test#s than Gittens had) should likely be around then. And even if they go another position with the #27, I believe there would still be a good safety pick at #36 or 45 even (like Windsor big DB MacDougall or possibly Laval's Max Lavallee - didn't get invited to the Main Combine, but a real play-making DB, IMO).

Argos are very deep in Canadian talent now IMO, so it might be tough for any new guys, especially mid round picks, to crack the roster; but history shows that the CFL draft will often feature diamonds/ solid talent in the mid or even later rounds; smart scouts will find them.

No question we are deep in NATs, but I am not entirely sold on our o-line depth. IMO Richards is never gonna develop into a starter, and we have seen so little of Churchill and Giffen that we really have no idea whether or not they are going to be players. Same for Noll. Bladek, Hunter, Nicastro, Ciraco and MacKellar are the five most likely to dress each week, I imagine, and that's an excellent group. But behind them are a lot of question marks, in my view.

Can't see an O-linemen in this draft class, with all the deferrals of top O-linemen till next draft, plus a couple of NFL flight risk top rated guys, still available at #27, and being even close to a better O-line prospect than Richards, Churchill & Giffen - who already have CFL roster experience/training. Might be a different story if the Argos had 1st or 2nd round picks and it was a deep O-line crop to choose from - go for a blue chipper / future starter. Can always wait till next year's draft to further re-stock the O-line - if need be. For now, receiver is more of a need position group, plus this draft features IMO a good number of fine safety prospects - a position where the Argos start a National - a top prospect there might be able to beat out Metchie for the job - soon or later, or maybe pass Hagerty as the main back-up.

I agree that receiver should be a priority for the Argos in the draft. Jaxon Ford or Daniel Perry could be good options at #27. For safety, Max Lavallee could be a sleeper pick. Excited to see who the Argos select and how they contribute this season.

Welcome to the site. More Argo fans !!!

Jaxon Ford is a safety though BTW (2nd team all-Canadian last season).

The Argos have brought back WR Cyrus Holder who was with the team briefly last year. Holder went on to be drafted by Vegas in the 4th round of the XFL Draft. Vipers HC Rod Woodson eventually went with a veteran presence with Argo WR Martavious Bryant.

How well has that worked for Woodson?
Chad Kelly + Dan Adeboboye + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

Nothing has worked well for Coach Woodson….I gather Bryant and his 12 receptions were supposed to sell tickets.

I'm looking forward to being able to lock this thread shortly, but the Argos have been busy with a few signings:

That McMahon has an impressive RB resume; so does that DB Motley

Argos also announced the signing of draft pick (last overall) O-lineman Anthony Vandal (potential steal/sleeper perhaps - don't get named an all-star in the Q for 3 straight season by some fluke); and undrafted FA DB Cody Hale (U of T - a big body DB so maybe could compete at safety)

I was disappointed to see WR Tanner Gentry was put on the retired list. I was looking forward to seeing how his Dalton Schoen-type game would fit in this offence. I guess his heart just wan’t in it anymore.

In addition to Rich’s news of Gentry retiring, OT Koffi Apiah who spent last season on the PR has also retired. Argos also sign U of Buffalo R Quian Williams.

I would like now, to take this opportunity to thank both Gentry and Appiah for their contributions to the Toronto Argonauts organization and wish them well in their future endeavours.
