Beyond my desire to get a Royal Retros custom, there is a question about the arms. Some players had the double stripes and some have one stripe. What's with that?

I have a couple of game-worns from that period, circa 1977-78: a white 12 and a blue 14 that I believe was worn by Kelvin Kirk. It appears to me that some players cut part of the sleeves off -- presumably they found them too long.
I'd love to know what the uniform site uses as source material for its database. The only thing I can think of is newspaper photos from games, albeit they would have been black-and-white back then.

Also, one thing that is NOT accurate on that site is the upper socks. They show only two options for 1977 and '78: Oxford blue and white. But they wore stripes back then, at least on the white socks.

Ah yes; the 78 Argos - with a disappointing last place East finish; even though they had some very good talent: Terry Metcalf's 1st Argo season + Mark Bragonolo at RB; big TEs (back when they were a force in CFL offences) in Peter Muller & ML Harris; some top notch American talent on D in Bruce Clark at DT & Eric Harris and James Marshall at DB (all went on to play in the NFL), plus Canadians like Rick Sowieta & Paul Bennett. I guess coaching smarts plus the QB duo of Chuck Ealey & Alvin White were limiting factors ?
Still recall coming home from being taken out to dinner on my (21st) birthday that year, and as i came in the house, howling that the tv was not on to show the Argos game - cause there was a surprise birthday party with friends and family awaiting. The good old days. ;o)
