New uniforms?

For a Uniform Design? How could you say that? It isn't anywhere near some of the disgraces they've foisted upon us...

I guess what I mean by worst effort is there were no stripes or white on the home jersey or pants for that matter. I just thought they looked completely unfinished. I don’t know how anyone signed off on them.

Yeah, that one was awful... So was the white uni with the big A n the bottom centre... And don't get me started on how they made our traditional Oxford and Cambridge Blues into a weird silvery teal...

We have the best colour scheme in world sport. Almost impossible to screw up... And yet they've managed to do it.

We have the best colour scheme in world sport. Almost impossible to screw up... And yet they've managed to do it.

The colour change that occurred in 1995 replaced Cambridge Blue with "slate green," and they added silver as an accent colour. The slate green was obviously a big mistake altho the pantone for Cambridge Blue is actually pretty close to that shade of green. While we still officially use Cambridge as one of the two colours, I think the current lighter blue is something else, pantone-wise.

I wasn't completely opposed to adding some silver to the unis at the time. If the Jason era had had Cambridge instead of "slate," the 1996-2004 unis would have been quite nice although a lack of contrast on road unis is never my choice. (1995 with the giant logo on the front was problematic, of course.) The 1995-2004 pants stripe (with "portholes") was very cool, IMO, and the Jason logo itself was nicely rendered although I did, and still so, prefer the boat.

Have the Argos ever had Cambridge helmets Paul? I know there was white back in the 50’s-60’s, navy blue obviously. These look pretty nice. gil says a good start to the uniform change.

They had Cambridge helmets for a few years in late 1950s into early 1960s, I believe.

Agreed; they are nice.

Love to see an all Cambridge uni (with some Oxford & white trim) - like I think they have had in the past - for some games, but probably better to go with a darker blue helmet with those ?

I remember they had an event at the Metro Convention centre prior to the 2012 season to reveal the great Jerseys they had for the next few years. I hope they go back to something like that.

The 2012 unis were indeed nice, and an improvement over their predecessors, but they got sharpened up a couple of years later with the addition of piping around the numbers. I really don't like plain numbers without accent colour on the edge.

Both of my customized home and away jerseys have the plain numbers, the piping added a year or so later does finish them off quite nicely.

Given their track record, I have been checking Real Sports every day to see if the new jerseys have been prematurely released in error. Nothing so far.

Haha I could totally see Real Sports dropping the ball on that given our luck Josh.

I like that mashup jersey the guy did with the Cambridge blue uniforms and the Jason Logo but the boat is quickly goring on me. Probably hit me less simple because I didn't have the same immediate nostalgia for it as those in the 70s/80s did. Now maybe with permission from the Rowing Club they can finally put the pre-1955 logo on the helmet for the game they honour the 1933 Grey Cup Team...
