    QB injuries

This year is really becoming bizarre. Barely half the teams still have the starters they had at the start of the season (although one of those, Cornelius, has been found wanting more than once). Four teams have lost their starters, and two of those have also lost their backup. Let's hope this epidemic stays away from Toronto.

Long-term this might be a good thing for the league as it will force three "new" guys (Powell, Crum and the not-so-new Fine) to get some significant playing time. It would be great if some or all of them showed enough to develop into future starters.

It's interesting because the TSN CFL panel was talking about this and how it shows that teams should give 2nd or 3rd string quarterbacks more opportunities to develop and play in games and get used to the CFL game. And they were saying it needs to be more than just "short run footage" opportunities etc.

the Bo Levi Mitchell injury, in the last 30 seconds of the game July28, has to be the worst one of all so far (maybe Masoli's injury, you might argue). The reason is how meaningless the play was in which the injury took place. In both cases, long-time great Pros maybe facing end-of-career situations. Thinking of Ricky Ray's head-shot / neck-shot in 2018, and also Matty Dunigan's final-straw concussion in 1996 in his 1st year with the Ticats. When it happens to a great QB with 10+ years of CFL service, man it really sucks.
