Really sucks for him. I was hoping he would make it and make some good money. But, if he doesn't get picked up elsewhere, let's hope he decides to come back to the Argos.

Looking at this from an entirely selfish perspective, I'd feel much more comfortable with Jamal Peters in that secondary. It's not that Robertson Daniel isn't talented, but he's been unable to stay healthy. Priester may be better inside at halfback as well.

Being released this early makes it much more likely he will return to Toronto. If this had happened at the end of August or beginning of September, I am guessing that he would have spent the rest of the NFL season at least trying to get another opportunity there.

Having an all-star like him at corner really would solidify this defence. It would arguably be the best defence in the league with no weak spots. Better than last year's version as they will play much more aggressively and their schemes will be next level.

Exact opposite view on this issue. So early into mini camp and full fledged training camps yet to begin I can see Peters agent contacting every time for a shot at camp. This will go on for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Ben Grant reports that he is under contract for one more season with the Argos. Reporting now is of no NFL benefit to him. Report to the Argos in Week 9 or 10 for a stretch run after which try your luck next Spring once again.

I realize this is likely facetious, but before anyone gets nervous about the Argos possibly losing JP in some kind of bidding war, Ben Grant has reported that he is under contract here through 2024. Of course, he might not want to play under whatever rookie-level deal he signed in 2022, but if he does want to play in Canada, we apparently retain his exclusive rights.

That might be a bit tricky, depending on how much money the club has left in the pot for unforeseen player expenditures. They could always back-load a bonus into 2024, of course.

From my recollection, CFL players who are cut from the NFL this early rarely catch on with another NFL team. He can still earn a full season's salary in Canada at this point also.
