Still no theme nights what gives?

I see every team in the league has announced theme nights for this season. Montreal has multiple kids and students promos for several games at $ 5 bucks a ticket and they have a cirque du soleil half time show. Argos website just crickets.a different shade of blue helmet will not sell any tickets. Where the hell is Bill Manning? And why is Pinball being wasted away in football Ops when its obvious he best serves the club as president selling tickets. 150th anniversary and no promotional stuff at all all off-season shameful!

Personally the game itself needs to be sold. Not The gimmicks. I’m ok with a student night, U of T, York etc discount or something but I don’t think special themes or half times shows will make any difference

CFL did a concert series a while ago... really enjoyed that.... Megan Patrick played... on a country themed night at BMO.... that was excellent. Always thought there should be a Zoomer night at the ARGO's maybe the same night as the CNE game.... Think there is a lot of us old Zoomer CFL fans still alive and kicking.... difficult to say if this would be worth the effort ...

Every team is promoting with themes to get fans yet Argos just open the gate on game day and do no promo work at all thats automatic fail. Bobble head, pet to the park days, student and kids nights. Hell Argos just do something already.

I may be wrong, but I just assumed Manning's departure from TFC meant he has departed MLSE altogether. Regarding the website, and app for that matter, very disappointing. Seems like an afterthought. Every other team has daily interviews on their site with coaches and players, but nothing on ours. Even during the season, it's down to once a week and then post game (maybe also after day before walk through).

I agree with you. The game needs to be legitimized and the rich history/cultural significance needs to be highlighted. I doubt a pet night and a dog and pony show will convince people to take Canadian Football seriously.

I agree with you. The game needs to be legitimized and the rich history/cultural significance needs to be highlighted. I doubt a pet night and a dog and pony show will convince people to take Canadian Football seriously.

A huge task that current CFL leadership and most team owners are just not up to.

Gabe when you went to TC, is there any indication that the Argos are holding camp at U of G such as highly visible banners etc? I recall MBT being critical last year there was little to no effort to promote the team’s presence in Guelph.

You probably saw the same thing on Twitter as I did, which I was fooled by too briefly - it was a disgruntled TFC fan who made up a very realistic-looking press release announcing the firing of Manning and the coach.

TFC lost again tonight. They are just a wretched team with a huge payroll. About the only positive for that franchise is that hardly anyone is seeing their games on Apple TV.

Theme nights don’t phase me one way or the other TBH.
I would encourage the team to offer heavily discounted tickets ($5.00) for all kids 18 and under and “family packs” to get as many people in the stadium as possible, make it a season long promotion and promote it like crazy!
It’s all about exposing the product to as many potential fans as possible, get them in the stadium and there is a good chance they will be entertained and return.
I suspect they may even purchase a hot dog (or two) and some merchandise.
