I don't care if this game is meaningless for the Argos, but I want to shut up the Blue Bomber attendance police.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
Hate to say it, but I think the Bombers will take this one. Full house and way more important to them.
It's us vs the rest of the country
And some reports suggest Kelly will sit. If that's the case, I'd like to see Scott get the start over Dukes.

A clash of the titans in front of a sold out crowd and the Argos sit Kelly. It's definitely the responsible move, but a little unfortunate for this particular game.
More than unfortunate. Sold out game for weeks. This is the game CFL fans and football fans have had circled for months on their calendar. This game could easily be the most watched regular season game of the year. Alot of casual Toronto fans could be watching back home. Similar to the late season Argo Bomber game in 1983 when Terry Greer went off for over 200 yards receiving in Winnipeg. Dinwiddie has the final 2 Ottawa games to sit his team. This game and the 150th game are not the ones. A game like this is why there are fans of the sport. He should start and play at least a half.
GO ARGOS!!!
I think he's a better prospect than Dukes, but that's pure conjecture. Obviously we will find out more about both guys over the next few wks.
I will say that whomever plays this week should not be judged solely on it. No QB, especially a new one, can be fairly evaluated in a game preceded by a single practice.

Stats courtesy of the Regina Leader-Post and Winnipeg Sun respectively. These two publications are the ones I go to for game stats from the 1980's as I find they are the most complete. The other newspapers sometimes omit individual stats (except for the top two) for each team. Once you get to 1989 or 1990 or so I find that any publication is good.

Yes, and thanks to Will for those stats. I was at that game. Argos were getting killed and then staged a magnificent rally in the fourth quarter, almost pulling off an amazing comeback. They tried an onside quick kick in a final desperate bid to regain possession, and it nearly worked. I felt like the only Argo fan in a crowd of 30,000 people razzing me, until Holloway and Greer led the remarkable comeback. The building got very quiet when Greer threw a TD pass to Scott McGhee on an option play.
In addition to being at the game, I was later able to obtain a copy of the broadcast. I'll never forget Leo Cahill's words in the booth when Greer passed to McGhee. "Oh my aching back! Do you believe that?" That fourth quarter might have been the greatest display of Mouse's Run and Shoot. Sadly, the videotape got stolen in 1986 and I have never been able to find another copy.

Back to the game, it's been reported that Dukes is getting No. 1 reps at today's "walk-through." The only full practice this week is tomorrow.

You may be able to get a copy from CBC. In 1995 my father was terminally ill. He played for Hamilton and Ottawa in late 1950s. I wrote to CBC to get copies of classic Grey Cup games for us to watch together. Can't remember all of them but they sent them to me free of charge. They sent them to me on VHS, but I'm hoping they have digitized all of their old broadcasts.
GO ARGOS!!!
