Big chain stores that carry sports merchandise will usually have some local/home team gear - Ts, caps, jersey's - even if just for the season. I have seen some RedBlacks gear at local Canadian Tires', Giant Tigers' and even Winner's, but sometimes it's hit and miss or plenty then little at times.

I told the story here of my stop-over at Billy Bishop about a year back (and during CFL season) - where I had time to check out the big souvenir stand there; and saw gear/souvenirs from just about every Toronto sports team (and some of their league rivals') - Leafs/NHL, Jays/MLB, Raptors/NBA, assorted NFL gear (last time i checked they do not have a team anywhere in Canada), TFC /soccer stuff, and even the local lacrosse team (? Wolfpack is it?), but, ZERO Argo/CFL gear - like they don't even exist = surprise/surprise. Continued acceptance of this attitude is part of the problem IMO

None of this changes the fact the Argos increased merchandise sales this season.

Just because you don't see the Argos logo every time you leave your home doesn't mean we are all happy with mediocrity.

This is a great deal. You can sit in sec 207 right at mid field for $38.

Excellent. That is priced to sell. Eith Montreal in the game MLSE are going to have to work to sell it out. The bleacher endzones are all gone. These are extra seats they didn't have last year. Here's hoping they can generate enough buzz to fill it all up with a sea of blue.

With 3 Leaf home games this week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, MLSE should have booths, tables set up throughout the concourse to sell tickets. Players can come out to all 3 games to promote and help out.
If anyone from MLSE is reading this, can you confirm if that or something like that is being done.

For the Monday, Wednesday game starters should go box to box chatting up patrons and selling tickets. Friday can only be non starters like Henoc, etc

Did you ever consider that maybe players want to keep their regular routines heading into a big game? Maybe the players don't want to go to a game to promote rather than keep their focus. Just saying.

    How can you tell?

    EDIT: MISQUOTE

I was trying to reply to the post about how it looked like 22k sales as of today.

Have we heard about numbers at all?

    That.

I don't want Argonauts being salesmen this week. Their one and only job is kicking Montreal's ass on Saturday.

    Aside: Weather looks very promising.

Would be nice if TSN 1050 could get people like Glenn Suitor ,Matt Stegal, Mike H or M Ferguson for some quick interviews. Always like to hear what these guys have to say. Really miss the TSN Hamilton station....AM 740 still gives great CFL updates IMO.

Pinball would be the best guy to get. Nobody is a better promoter of the team. Maybe Muamba. Sadly, I don't know of any other alumni that would be recognizable to that audience.

Damon Allen, Paul Masotti, Pinball, Adriano Belli, Rickey Foley? Hell about asking Jim Kelly to come out? I'm sure he is going to be there at the EF. Mike O'Shea is busy this week unfortunately.

Fly the Rocket, Flutie, Mookie, Owens up for the week. You want all these guys at BMO this weekend as well. Thiesmann.
Bring all the Hall of Famers back from the 150th and keep them here for the Final and bring them out to the boxes at the Leaf games. And get them face time on the networks. That will bring all of the old time fans back out.

Team doesn’t need to advertise to Argo fans. I don’t see how any use of alumni would result in more sales. You’re right. What impact does Condredge Holloway have on the demographic the team wants to target?
