West Semi-Final: Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions - November 4, 2023

The Stampeders blew out the Lions a few weeks ago at BC Place. The Lions don't look as invincible at home as they did earlier in the season, but I'd be surprised if the Lions came out flat again in the playoffs.

Me too. Calgary is simply not a good football team and I don't see lightening striking twice in two weeks.

Stumps 2 big wins this season - vs. the Argos (likely a loss if Kelly played the whole game), and later vs. BC, saw them deploy their good RBs and a strong ground game. Dickenson will not grasp this though, and if their run game is shut-down early, look for cry-baby Dave to abandon it and hope Maier and his average passing arm can generate lots of offence - like Dave tried in last year' s play-off loss to the Lions.

Stumps need the bad VA to show-up and throw lots of picks for any hope to win this game IMO.

The Lions did not show up 2 weeks ago. Does not look good on them as a team. They will lose to Winnipeg or Toronto, but against the Stamps they will make amends. Probably a big lbig lopsided win for BC.

Now in the 2nd half, and obviously the GOOD VA has shown up. He is super sharp in this one, some beautiful runs, sliding when he should, keeping healthy, throwing perfect tosses and looking as good as he ever has. Is this just a bad Calgary D or what??

BC looked impressive in this game, especially Vernon Adams. When he is on and playing well - he is simply dazzling to watch! If BC continues to play like this, the match up with Winnipeg should be a good game!

Another easy prediction here. The talk of Calgary winning this game was ludicrous. BC had nothing to play for 2 weeks ago, and Calgary had everything to play for.
It's us vs the rest of the country

Dave Dickenson is incapable of game planning a smart offence in a big play-off game - what a putz; should be stripped of HC there if Huff has any sense left. There only hope in this game was to load up on and stick with the ground game.

And what was with Calgary going to a (new?) 3-4 D look lots (with 4 true, big LBs including a brand new guy - #53 Taylor ?) in the biggest game of the year? Did they think this would confuse VA - only 3 rushing and the LBs not blitzing much? Sure, give the guy all kinds of time to read and throw. Monson was supposedly this bright DC there, but maybe cry-baby Dickenson stuck his nose in there ?

The degree of moron coaching and dumb as a plank game planning on display in this league at times is frustrating / maddening. IMO.
