As one of the commentators of the game said "all season long Kelly didn't play like a rookie - unfortunately yesterday he played like a rookie."

Chad Kelly is still an excellent QB. The East Final was his first pro playoff experience after what has been a rocky period in his career.

Winning the Grey Cup is never easy. The CFL is not a league where any QB can just walk in and dominate. Zach Collaros had to put in some serious work to get to where he is right now.

Kelly has all the tools and I hope he is hungry to win an East Final and right the wrong.

I don't see this game having any effect on Kelly's NFL future or lack of one.

    Exactly.

Dieter Brock was a Hall of Fame QB and only made it to the Grey Cup game once - in his 11th and final season. If we had social media back in those days, I suspect that Brock's legacy would be looked upon much differently.

For Kelly it will be a long off season to chew on this, and continue all season as he now has to perform in the playoffs to shake this off. I have faith in Kelly to learn from this and return stronger next year.
One thing getting a lot of chatter is the fact he went straight to the locker room and did not shake hands at the end of the game. That's a maturity issue he has to deal with.

Could never get over the hump that were the (then) Edmonton Eskimos.

They played Edmonton twice in the final - 1980 and 1982 - and came close but no cigar. They should have beaten BC at home in the West semi-final in 1981 but lost 15-11 IIRC. Again, if social media existed back then, Brock would have been skewered for not coming through in the clutch.
