I worry about Montreal's offensive line against Winnipeg's defensive front. That seems like a huge mismatch. Montreal's fine defence will have to force a few turnovers again, although they are capable of doing that. The Alouettes also need to get some kind of running game going against the Bombers. It seems unlikely that Adam Bighill will play, as he may have torn his achilles or sustained some other serious non-contact injury.

GO Als !!!! (i wouldn't bet on them but I believe they can win this game - with the same formula that beat the Argos, plus the Bombers D is softer than the Argos and may be without Bighill; their DTs are nowhere near the Argos group Ravi and neither are their LBs) - Maas might be too dumb to game plan lots of run though - I'd pound both RBs and have designed runs for Fajardo.

First time these 2 teams have ever met in a GC ? - i was a bit surprised to hear that = must be the only never happened before GC match-up left ?

Ottawa's never played BC. Every other east/west combo has happened.

Of course it's possible with the crossover for Toronto to play Hamilton in the Grey Cup, but pretty unlikely. having said that, here's some trivia for you that surprised me ....

On Sunday, Winnipeg will become the first CFL team to have played EVERY other current team in the Grey Cup. (Assuming for the sake of argument that the Redblacks and the former Rough Riders are the same team.)

The Bombers were in the East division for a few years, and met all the current West teams at least once in the Grey Cup; plus, they've previously met Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton. But not Montreal. How 'bout that.

As I said in the Als page, I really home Montreal wins. Can't stand Bombers fans, media and ex media members on twitter. They take way more pot shots at Argos and their attendance than most. Also, we all know how the city on Montreal is with their teams win or tie, so it can go a long way in bringing their crowds back to what they were in the Calvillo days.
It's us vs the rest of the country

It's interesting that I have been getting much more flack from Bombers fans since the East Final and none really from Ticats fans.

As Gabe pointed out in another thread, some Bomber fans spent much of this year saying that their team lost via fluke in the 2022 Grey Cup. Once the Argos lost to Montreal on Saturday, that cemented that opinion in their view.

Plus, they are going to the 4th consecutive Grey Cup. I can imagine what some Edmonton fans would've been like had social media existed in 1981-1982.

If not for the gift of Collaros, the Bummers likely have been to one or none GCs in the past 4 years.

Chris Streveler was sure not leading them to the promised land.

Great Grey Cup local coverage on CHCH. Bubba O'neil sports report is excellent. Also reporting on the events which is nice to sea. Hope this Grey cup is a big success for the city of Hamilton.

Well, I think with Ticat fans, any joy we felt with the Argos losing came down to not wanting our archrivals to hoist the Cup in our stadium. Honestly, I think we know our place right now and understand we're in no position to trash talk (although a few will still try to be sure).

And we hate the Bombers too. There will be a lot of Ticat fans (including myself) who will be cheering Montreal on Sunday. Even though a lot of Ticat fans would consider them our second most-hated rivals. Just like last year... I'm sure I wasn't the only one kind of cheering on the Argos. The Bombers had beat us twice already and that home loss in '21 still stings to this day.

Hamilton snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in 21 so I understand your frustration, I’m hoping the Alouettes find a way to win on Sunday.

Well you would have to think that Winnipeg has the edge in this game, but that was also the popular view last year and the Argos beat them. So I do think if Montreal keeps playing the way they've been playing the last few games, they definitely have a chance to take the Cup this year!

To win the Als have to contain Brady and get some turnovers ( but not as many near as many as Toronto gave up).

Not questionable, terrible. Cost the Als four points.

I continue to question loading up the box down at the goal line only to get stuffed, beyond stupid!

Yeah I had the same thought - why not try running it in on the right or left hand side!! Missed opportunity for Montreal!!

Also needed that to put the goal line stand behind them.
