That's a lot of guys. We obviously can't get them all back, but I sure hope we re-sign Bede, Brissett, Hendrix, Leake, Ouellette, Peters and Pickett.

Coxie, Daniel, Jones and Oakman would be nice but are replaceable IMO. Richards and Tate can walk.

I'd love to keep Coxie he seems to have a connection with Kelly and he's been clutch (particularly against the Als).

I agree re Coxie, but we can't keep everyone and IMO he's more easily replaceable than the other guys I prioritized.

I'll be shocked (but super happy) if we somehow manage to keep Pickett. Hope Farhan is right.

If LB Jordan Williams isn’t retained and IF Muamba retires, could the team tweak the ratio and start pending FA Jonathan Jones at MLB? He has been super underrated and made starts at MLB last season and was great. He, McManus and hopefully Pickett, they would be by far the best LB corp in the league.

As for AJO…if he leaves, and with the possibility of KO returns being limited by new rules, does Javon Leake warrant a look at more snaps on offence as there are new return candidates on the roster too? I think Leake is much more than just a return guy.

In my mind, Williams was a disappointment last year. That's not to say he won't be great this year. Cam Judge appeared to be a huge disappointment in 2021 with the Argos, and has been phenomenal the last 2 years in Calgary.
I would love to see the Argos get Cassar back under contract and give him every opportunity to win or share the MLB spot. Williams is also a high ticket, so it really would not surprise me to see him moved or let go depending on how the roster gets filled.

A lot to be decided Angelo, Cassar was very highly touted coming out of college and you would hate to see him blossom elsewhere.

Ryan D and other Argo coaches should have a good handle by now if Cassar can step-up to be a starting MLB; hopefully determined by real TC competition; or maybe Williams or Jones are up to the job; or a new MLB recruit.

Williams just finished his entry-level deal so didn't make a lot of money last year. One report I saw suggested about $86k. He'll will get a decent raise, but I don't see him getting into the upper 100s.

I thought all entry level Canadian players were restricted to CFL minimum wage their first 3 seasons, or is it 2?; or not the case at all ?

The salary scale is set out clearly. $86k or so is about what a first-round NAT could be paid (including salary, bonus and allowance) in Year 3.

And yet they reported twice last April that he was heading into the final year of his contract, and recently declared him unsigned for 2024. One of these things -- either the two lists implying he's not a free agent or the written reports suggesting he is -- is inaccurate. I would like to trust a list the league published, but this is a league with a history of screwing up these sorts of administrative details, so I'm not putting my faith in either one or the other. Until there is definitive proof that Williams is under contract for 2024, I'm going to assume he's not someone we can count on.

I would think it has to be right, as all contracts have to be registered with the league, so they should be getting this list directly from the league.

I emailed someone in the Argos front office who confirmed MLB Jordan Williams is under contract and NOT a pending FA. As for where Jones fits in, if he has been resigned, he fit in quite nicely last season and played a lot with both McManus and MLB Jordan Williams in the lineup.
