If Mace leaves, who will become our DC? I'm guessing Josh Bell, but who knows? I wonder if RD has a relationship with Davone Claybrooks.

Saskatchewan doesn't need Buck Pierce to get Dru Brown. He wants to start. With Mace you get a few Argo all stars to go along with a good defense already in Regina. Saskatchewan can become a contender very quickly. I don't want to see him leave, but it's not looking good.

I asked Farhan Lalji about Claybrooks and why he has seemingly dropped off the map completely and he said that Claybrooks is now running a restaurant in Calgary. I don't know if he wants to get back into coaching or not and he has some significant health issues where he might be thinking that coaching isn't worth it. That's only my own speculation though.

Kevin Eiben could get a shot? - an all-time great Argo D player with some good D coaching experience.

Nice hire for the Riders - congrats Corey !; hopefully he doesn't take too many Argo FAs with him.

Next man up for DC - maybe from within (hoping it's Kevin Eiben)

When you're a successful team, other teams will come looking your way. I hate to lose Mace but life goes on.

I agree Ravi, most important now is who is next up as the DC?
Do the Argonauts promote from within (Bell, Eiben, Fields) or do they look outside the organization (Jordan Younger, James Stanley) etc?
Would there be a remote chance they would talk to Glen Young about returning or has that bridge been burned?

Interesting, I heard Sask wanted to have some control over who he selected as assistants. Which would be enough reason to stay away.

I hope Mace understands that his recently signed contract extension is now Null and Void.

If Arash Madani can be believed (and his track record is pretty good) the leading.contender is Jason Shivers, and Jerry Glanville is also under consideration.

For the record, I very much doubt Glen Young will be back.

I am no expert, but with all the time that Kevin Eiben has been with the Argos, it would be nice to see him given the chance at DC, if it is felt he is capable. As for Jason Shivers, I have mixed feelings.... he has been spoken of in high regard, but hasn't had much success the past couple of seasons. Don't know if that's because he didn't have the right players, but a good coach finds a way to get the most from what he has.

I dunno, it's going to be interesting.

The last game Jones/Glanville coached in the CFL was the 2018 East Final against Ottawa, where Trevor Harris went off for 6 TD passes and owned the TiCats. His defensive game plan was not very good to put it mildly.

Jerry Glanville is 82 years old.

Farhan suggested Benavides as a candidate as well.

Shivers was laughed at by many Riderfans.; but as a GOB type, he likely gets hired again somewhere; why not an author of a useless defence .

I’d be good with Benevides, but would prefer someone from within, like Bell or Fields. Keeps some continuity. I wouldn’t be too high on Eiben. He struggled as a ST coordinator. Some guys are better teachers than coordinators, this position coach is a better fit. I think Eiben falls into that category

An in the know Riderfans source says Corey Mace is going to name Marc Mueller (pals from days with Stamps?) as his OC. A young Canadian HC and a Canadian OC ... wow, that is just radical; what's next - a Canadian DC as well ? Pitchforks will likely be out early in Riderland if the new coaching staff does not succeed soon, howling for a LaPo or Scotty M type instead, and blaming inferior trained Canadians for lack of football acumen.
